Christiane Wert Rivard, MPH, RD

has been a registered dietitian for more than 12 years and is a member of The Vitamin Shoppe's Health Advisory Board. As an in-store nutritional consultant at select Southern California Vitamin Shoppe stores, she enjoys providing her expertise to customers who otherwise might not have access to a dietitian, helping them design comprehensive dietary and lifestyle plans for healthier, happier lives. Rivard is an author and speaker on the topic of childhood obesity, and since 1995 she has been program director of Los Angeles-based KidShape Foundation, the largest and most successful weight management program for youth and their families. During her tenure at KidShape, she has helped expand the interactive program from its home-base location in California to more than 30 sites throughout the United States. In addition to her role at KidShape, Rivard has served as a consulting dietitian for Neufeld Medical Group, Inc. in Los Angeles, Pasadena Child Development Associates, Pacific Institute for Women's Health and Culver City Youth Health Center for the Teen Activity Project. Besides her expertise in youth nutrition, Rivard also specializes in dietary programs for diabetics and overweight adults. Rivard has been featured on the topic of nutrition and childhood obesity on "The Today Show" and the Discovery Channel, as well as in the Los Angeles Times and Latina.
