FIrst and foremost, I'd like to say that this is a completely honest account of my experience with this product. I weighed in at about 190 lbs at one point, I exercised it off to 160 lbs, and between 160-155 lbs, I had a lot of trouble loosing the extra weight and reaching 140 lbs. My next step was to try something new.

I found Almased online after doing tons of research. I was completely skeptical and uncertain about the product, but I decided to try it. It is important to follow all of the guidelines in order to be successful. It is important to stay focused, stay on track with the steps, portions, and so forth. Using this as a method of cleansing, to jump start your metabolism is absolutely great, plus it works!

I drank about 4, 8-10oz shakes of Almased daily. Every day I was literally loosing a pound. Drinking Almased kept me full, completely satisfied, and diminished many of my cravings. The longer I did it for, the more determined I was to be successful. After seeing results so quickly, I decided to commit to Almased for a minimum of 10 days, and I lost a total of 8-10 lbs. I broke over the plateau and succeeded in loosing the weight intended.

I definitely recommend it. It works just as long as you follow the instructional guide. It also helps to read other reviews and watch videos on peoples' experiences with the product to see how it works for everyone and what people do differently or similarly as a guiding tool, but generally, the instructional guide should be your source of guidance.

almased mixed up great in my bullet with unsweetened almond milk. added flax and chia seeds, a lil olive oil and some walnuts. tasted fabulous, consistency was palatable and it left me satisfied. the down side, which was a big one, was it left me with a metallic taste in my mouth and my stomach and bladder in complete upheaval. there's a ton of added vitamins and minerals in this that overwhelmed my body. (especially the potassium and iron) all of that is not needed. it also contains dairy. a note for anyone who is sensitive. i would love the product if it was just not over packed with extras

    Not a Bad Product

    Pros

    • Feel better, overall
    • Good for those with candida to balance GI

    Cons

    • Salty as heck!

    Best Uses

    • As a means to manage food eating

Comments about Almased - 17.6 Ounces Powder:

I read many reviews before purchasing, reviews that seemed like this would be a magic powder, thus making it seem far-fetched. But I bought it optimistically. I began using it by subbing it for 2 meals and eating one meal a night, (a meal that was low-cal, under 600 calorie & no meat). I did this for three weeks and lost three pounds. I am now 120, female, 40s, no exercise, looking to lose five pounds--and mostly wanted to get control of eating too much, as a result of candida, which can cause excessive hunger. On the average, I don't eat high sugar, meat, or the usual culprits that cause weight--mostly winter weight and cheese that put the five pounds on. Even without those factors, I've found that Almased made me feel better--the gastro bloating associated with candida, or even eating veggies, went away. I felt lighter and just overall better; food intake seemed manageable. The money spent on it is balanced without eating two meals. Some days I would have one shake and one meal; or two meals and one shake, etc., but over all, long term, it has allowed me to get my GI track in balance; feel better, and eat less. That's the key. The shakes with almond milk are around 180-200 calories--so I cut my intake all day. My one negative is that the product is salty (unsure why), so occasionally, I would use another meal replacer, like Skinny Gut, (less calories too, and organic ingredients), so offset all the salt. Overall it's not a bad product. My mother, who is overweight, also noted feeling better, but not really losing weight, like it makes out-- (e.g., you will lose weight while you sleep). I think anyone with excessive weight to lose or anyone eating too much would benefit from using a product like this or one similar to manage food intake, and bring balance back to eating. It's a step in re-configuring our eating habits, and that can be a good thing, so why not, right?

Comments about Almased - 17.6 Ounces Powder:

I had read a lot about this product so I finally decided to break down and buy a canister. I really liked the taste. It's not chalky to me at all. I did like the instructions and added the cinnamon, stevia, olive oil with the powder. Use very cold water and blend in a blender vs a hand shaker blender. It does blend better. Do drink right away like the directions say. I did the first 3 days with the 3 shakes a day then I switched to 2 shakes a day and 1 sensible meal. Mostly I did the meal at lunch time. In a week and a half I had lost 6 lbs. I am still using it and plan to continue till I loose 15 more lbs. then I'll use it as a maintenance. I really like the taste with the cinnamon in it. I look forward to it in the AM instead of coffee. I feel better and more energy.

Comments about Almased - 17.6 Ounces Powder:

I started this regime just before Xmas 2015. When you read the literature you catch the drift that this meal replacement fits into the high protein diet. I've severely restricted carb intake and replace at least two meals a day with this protein powder mix. I make strong coffee with Splenda cinnamon and vanilla extract the night before work and mix this with the recommended soy powder and this carries me to lunch. If I bring low sugar fruit juice to work, I may mix a batch for lunch. Otherwise I buy a soup and salad lunch at Panera substituting an apple for the bread. Dinner is another shake! Try cutting up an apple, mix in some apple juice, nutmeg and cinnamon in a blender with the Almesed. So far I've lost 20 pounds.

Started this 1/22/16 not sure about any weight loss yet b/c I want to wait until the 1st canister is gone. I drink 2 shakes and day and eat a sensible meal. I mix the following for my shake: 7 tablespoons of Almaseed, 12 oz of Sugar Free Silk almond coconut blend, 1 tablespoon of Ovaltine in a shaker with 2 ice cubes. I honestly have energy and believe me I've tried every protein/weight loss drink out there. I will update any weight loss in the next day or 2 as soon as my canister is gone :-)

Comments about Almased - 17.6 Ounces Powder:

The taste is bearable with ice and cinnamon mixed in my Ninja. This is my second week of using Almased and it works. My goal is to lose 30 pounds so my size 8 pants fit again. Since starting with Almased 2 weeks ago today I have lost 12 pounds. I drink a shake as substitution for lunch, I eliminated breads, cereals, fruit and bad carbohydrates from my diet and eat a lot of protein and vegetables. I did not cut out my coffee with 1% milk though. This product interested me because my metabolism stopped dead after turning 55 and I like the Probiotics and nutritional values (since I turned 60 last month). I'm also a firm believer that exercise is so important whether dieting or not and the older you are the more important it is. Your age is only a number! I ride 15 plus miles on a stationary bike twice a week, and lift weights for upper and lower body. From Nov-April I ski almost every weekend and many are extended to 3 and 4 days. In the last 14 days I have skied 8 of those days. When I ski I eat breakfast and a light lunch with Almased as an after skiing booster to replenish anything my body may have lost. These last two weeks I have had more energy and have felt healthier than I have in the past few months due to eating all sorts of unhealthy goodies over the holidays. I will continue with this regimen until my size 8 ski pants fit me again!

I've wanted to try this for several years and broke down and bought some here from VS but definitely won't purchase again. If you try to avoid adding a lot of fruit in your smoothies in the morning to keep the sugar content down, then you won't want to use this protein powder. This definitely requires bananas or something to mask the taste. Also, if you try to avoid milk, almond/coconut milk, etc. for various health reasons, and thus want to mix with water ... again this is not the protein powder to use. I had high hopes for this, but unfortunately another waste of money. Lastly I will add that if this had actually kept you full until lunch then I would have tried to deal with the taste, but unfortunately it didn't keep you full. The Rewards plant-based protein is a much better choice in our opinions.

I lost 30 lbs in two months and was not hungry! And the weight stayed off after returning to healthy eating (as I was doing before using this product) I am so thrilled and it tasted delicious! Add a little cinnamon and some flavored olive oil when using a meal replacement. Awesome!!!

Comments about Almased - 17.6 Ounces Powder:

Ok let me start by saying I only wish I found this stuff sooner. I got married in 2011 and weighed 269 and losing weight. After 6 months of marriage and living with a 15 year old I gained 67 pounds. I have NEVER EVER been over 305 in my life. I could not lose it or I would lose 10 pounds and put it back on again. After 3 years I finally had enough and I started walking, drinking regular protein drinks, trying pills from hydroxycut to green tea and I only lost 10 pounds but I looked toned.

Then the big bomb hit me...I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES!!! It is hereditary. I did not have high blood pressure, cholesteral problems or anything else just my darn sugar. So I was more motivated to lose the weight. I worked out and ate right but could not get the pounds off...yes inches but not pounds. It wasn't until we were getting ready to go and visit my home town that I was reading through my Diabetic Living magazine and I saw this product. I researched it and I found 2 things...it tasted gross but it worked. I tried it and IT TASTES GROSS BUT IT WORKS. I started the end of August 2014 and I lost 8 pounds the first week. Now mind you it is not water weight because I have already been dieting and exercising. I lost the 10 pounds from the protein drings from feb to august. August 8 pounds and before I went on vacation mid Sept another 4 pounds. I was down to 315 (I think the math is right) I was just happy to be 22 pounds lighter. I ate like nobodies business and thought for sure I gained the weight back but after a week on vacation when we came home I only gained 5 pounds. I went back on the shake end of Sept and I am now 299 298 this morning. I am telling you I have not eaten right, every once in a while I go for a walk and I am keeping the weight off. I am going to restart mid this month because I still have 50 pounds to go. But honey this stuff works!!!!!

If you have any questions let me know. I use V8 flavored diet drinks, ice and the shake in my bullet. Its tolerable. The taste is gritty like cream of wheat but the taste is bland and yucky. However, remember when your mom used to put you in the ugliest boots for winter and you didnt like it but it kept you warmer than the cute stuff....this is like that. The nasty stuff is the stuff that works!!!

The product information provided for Almased really is accurate and works if you follow the plan. I started the 3 Shakes per day for 12 days and lost 12 lbs. I am a believer and really like the junp start I got to continue losing to my ideal weight of 175. Not once did I feel hungry and my wife even noticed that I was not as irritable as I am when I go on low carb diets. Definitely a product for anyone serious about quick wieght lose.

Those that are on the fence about Almased, it DOES work... the key is to closely follow the directions, change your diet, and of course exercise. I suggest adding cinnamon for flavor, but once you get used to it, its just fine.

This shake product is a little grainey even making it in a blender but it does fill you up. I used non-fat milk and some cinnamon at times. It should be consumed all at once as the directions say, so the taste is okay this way. Drinking one shake did sustain me as a meal would.

This product is wonderful, does the job,and is worth the money. I have used this product for the past few months to fast at least one day a week if not two, and then back to a high protein/low carb program for the rest of the week.
The weight is coming off slowly and regularly as it should - 35 lbs to date with 17 more to go to reach ideal. I prefer to sweeten the product with a little bit of artificial sweetener, a touch of vanilla extract, and a little cinnamon. I sometimes will add a little fruit as well. The product is always blended with fresh water. Very tasty and satisfying with 3 shakes a day supplemented with V-8 low sodium juice, tea, and my daily vitamins.

Comments about Almased - 17.6 Ounces Powder:

The can is listed as 17.6 ounces and 10 servings. Suggested serving size is 8 Tablespoons per shake, so if I have done my math correctly, this can will only last 2 days at the most if you drink 4 shakes per day. Is this correct? What I want to know is how many shakes are you able to get from one can? Because if this is true, I realize, even though your product has good reviews and may work, it would be extremely costly, even more so than professional diet centers. Thank you!

thanks to everyone for answering my questions about this product. I would like to order online because it seems to be less expensive, however on some sites I see it has almased syneryg and some sites have just almased. Is there a differenc. I notice the container on the vitamin shoppe website does not have the word synergy on it. I want to get the proper shake . Is there a difference and can someone please clarify that for me?

Best Answer: I also get the Lemon Zest Fish Oil Smoothie out of the fridge at Vitamin Shoppe. It provides the Omega 3s. I love the lemon flavor and it makes my Almased drink taste not only more tolerable, but it actually tastes really good. I make my Almased with skim milk most of the time, rather than water. Then I squirt in some Lemon Zest Smoothie. Using the milk makes it more creamy, and using the Lemon Smoothie makes it taste like a Lemon Meringue Pie. I did not like the Strawberry-banana nearly as well.

Best Answer: The first week, all three meals were replaced with Almased. One container did not last the week. It also depends if you use 8 T. or 6 T. I think I went through one and a half containers.

When I start the shakes do I have to drink 3 a day or can I start out with drinking one shake for breakfast and a healthy lunch, one shake for dinner and do 30 minutes of exercise every other day. Also when drinking the shake as a meal replacement , can I eat a piece of fruit or have a serving of vegetables with the shake?

Best Answer: I couldn't drink 3 shakes a day. Breakfast and dinner are good and fruit or vegetable I think is appropriate.

Best Answer: almased tastes great on its own, but I add fruit and a little stevia for sweetness and it makes a great smoothie. Almased also recommends adding a little oil such as coconut to minimize the glycemic effect of the fruit.

Is Almased used as a meal replacement or partial replacement such as for breakfast of mid day meal? Based on personal experiences, how it Almased most effectively used?

Best Answer: Hello, Almased is a meal replacement. To optimize your results, you drink a shake for each meal for the first 2 weeks. In between meals, you can drink as much water and vegetable broth you want. After this initial period, depending on how much weight you desire to loose or how quickly you wish to shed the pounds, you can replace one or two meals per day...making sure of course the meals you make yourself are well balanced. I also recommend this product for someone who needs some extra nutritional assistance during the day. I drank this while I was undergoing chemotherapy, so I knew at least a couple times a day I was getting a decent meal.

                                Best Answer: Glenna,

This DOES work... ts rough the first few days getting your body used to a liquid diet. As far as the taste, I usually add some cinnamon to mine and it tastes just fine, you can try adding vanilla or almond extract to "season", also, I used unsweetened vanilla soy or almond milk- make a HUGE difference compared to water... With this diet, you'll need to go a full week of nothing but Almased for your 3 meals, no snacking- when you do get the urge to snack, I suggest having a V8 (low sodium).. and also supplementing with flaxseed oil... on your second week, I would recommend having almased in the AM, a small lunch (salad, chicken, or fish), and for dinner back to almased... in addition to that, you gotta work out... even if its just going to a speed walk, I came down 10 pounds so far and this is heading into my 4th week.. dont give in to cheating or snacking, this will help your body level out and get your metabolism jump started... remember to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated...

                                Chers.

Best Answer: Almased is a Diabetic friendly product. It has very low glycemic load of 4, and a glycemic index of 27. In studies it has shown to help maintain healthy blood levels (HbA1C), as well as helping the body maintain healthy insulin levels. It is also a great tool to help those diabetics whom struggle to loose weight...while maintaining insulin levels your body will have an easier time burning fat. I hope that answered your question.

Best Answer: I have type II and rely on low dose oral medication. I do not use Insulin. I have had NO negative results in blood sugar. I have been using it for at least 6 months. I was a little hesitant not because of the "honey" but because some nutritionist are not supportive of "soy" but then again others are.

Can you supplement this for one meal a day and still lose weight? I would like to try this product but I found that most of these products advise that you use twice daily to see results. I am at 200 pounds and I have tried everything in the book, just wanted to know if anybody still seen results with just dropping that last evening meal with Almased.
