Comments about Cardiovascular Research Refluxin (Gerd) - 90 Tablets:

I take a Betaine HCL with Pepsin before each meal as well as Refluxin just after the meal and my digestive system runs well. PLus being on Prevacid OTG 20MG once per day reduces acid in my system, the Betaine HCL provides the acid just when I need it (when I eat) and the Refluxin afterwards also aids immensely in my digestion. My system works much smoother and more reliably and have no noticeable heartburn.

Will this help with my acid reflux?
          Andy L on May 17, 2013
Best Answer: Sorry Andy - I can't help you right now. I was on prescription medicine and it stopped working for me. I also wanted to STOP taking drugs and would rather take homeopathic alternatives. I finished my prescription this week and I just started taking REFLUXIN. I can get back to you in a couple of days. I have a severe hiatal hernia which is getting worse and I think is turning to GERD. Even the Omeprazole isn't helping anymore. I take 40mg a day. My doctor is trying to wean me off of the Omeprazole by substituting other medications, but they (Nexium, Famotodine) don't work or make my stomach hurt even more!!! Is there anyone who has severe pain from Hiatal Hernia or Gerd who has used this and gotten relief? Also, how much is the dosage? I'd really appreciate and all help! Thank you very much. Sincerely, D.

Best Answer: I apologize for the delayed response...

I purchased this product, however, I never started using it because I wanted to be under the supervision of a doctor before doing so. I also have a hiatal hernia and GERD but has started see a chiropractor/holistic doctor to work out a full treatment plan. She has started doing manipulations of the hernia to get it back into proper position, as well as adjustments, and started me on whole food supplements for proper nourishment.

I blame most of my digestive issues on long term use of Omeprazole and have seen that taking less potent H2 Antagonists (like Zantac) for extended periods of time start to cause bloating and prolonged feelings of fullness. My chiropractic believes that the source of my problems are from poor digestion caused by low acid (from years of suppressing its natural action through Omeprazole) because acid is essential to digestion. She we are working to restore/replace missing acid and enzymes to get better digestion and kick start my stomach back into action. We are at the initial stages but I believe this is a better long term strategy for true healing as opposed to simple symptom treatment.

          I hope this helps.
