Comments about Eclectic Institute Beet Juice Powder - 90 Grams Powder:

I bought this product because I wanted to increase my VO2 Max. It has many other benefits and natural nutrients in it. Here are just some benefits, treats anemia, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis and several others. Its a liver and kidney cleanser and beet root can boost your stamina, allowing you to perform physical activities at higher level. The nitrates in beet root reduce your cells' oxygen consumption, thus increasing stamina. I mix with water and bit lemon juice about one and half hour before physical activity so that it may settle into my system.

Comments about Eclectic Institute Beet Juice Powder - 90 Grams Powder:

Very disappointed. The Vitamin Shoppe apparently removed the beet powder I'm used to from the local stock so I picked up this one. It taste much stronger than what I'm used to; but worst of all, IT DOESEN'T DISSOLVE WELL IN WATER. I added it to my morning glass of warm lemon water and ended up drinking sludge at the end.

the mfg suggests to take 1 teaspoon in water. How many beets is 1 teaspoon of the powder made from? thanks Doug
A Vitamin Shoppe customer on Feb 6, 2015
Best Answer: My mother taught me to raise beets when I was six years old (I'm now eighty.) Love beets! We prefer to can them without the vinegar and pickling additives. I still raise beets and eat the tops in salads while they are tender. Beets come in all sizes from marbles to baseballs. So I cannot tell you how much beet is in a spoon ful (although that would be nice to know.) Rather, I would just focus on taking the 1 teaspoon in water and follow that with some more water. It will probably turn your urine pink or even red if your body dumps the beet powder all at once. (The body does that - when it's through with it, the kidneys will duump it in the afternoon sometime. It dumps B-vitamins the same way. Don't take more than one heaping teaspoon of beet powder until you see that your body likes it....everything works well. It's more important to be regular with it, one teaspoon a day than to dump a tblsp every 2-3 days. Beet juice cleanses the blood and kidneys so you don't want a lot at one time. If I have raw beets, I sometimes cut off a 1/4 or 1/3 of a beet and throw it into my CHAMPION juicer along with carrots and Granny Smith apples. (I don't use sweet apples - need the malic acid in the apples). Too much beet - fresh or powdered - will insult your digestive tract. You can eat more canned beets than raw beets or powdered beets. Hope this helps. The Lord bless you real good.
