I'm an active person and lactose intolerant, I wanted to find a dairy free protein other than soy. One of the guys in the store recommended this, along with a couple other plant based proteins. I love chai anything, so the flavor caught my attention. While it doesn't taste exactly like vanilla chai, it does have that sweet-spice taste. I've had it mixed with both soy milk and water, and either way it tastes good and fills you up. Very satisfying taste and feeling. Will buy again!

I use Garden of Life Raw Protein (all flavors) in our morning protein smoothies and LOVE it! Less chalky than other brands and has more flavor, plus made from RAW sources. Also love that it is vegan as my daughter is lactose intolerant. The person who said this flavor tastes awful obvious doesn't know how to mix it. We use it with vanilla almond milk and frozen bananas in the blender and it tastes great!

I literally almost threw the drink away at my first sip. I have had veggie-based drinks before, and this one was simply gagging. I sucked it down, but I think you HAVE to mix it with something else other than just water because I absolutely could not stand the flavor and after-taste of this drink. It did make me feel full though, which is the only redeeming thing about the drink.

I love Chai everything...until now. This product is really good for you and it tastes like it. Gack! Drink fast because it gets thicker and thicker. I made the "meal" serving and had to add more water to thin it out since I couldn't drink it fast enough. It fills you up with goodness but don't expect a great chai flavor.

              Too much iron

              By Jon

              from Washington, DC

                  Best Uses

The information provided under the "Supplemental Facts" tab is incorrect. It states that there are no added vitamins and minerals when in fact a one-scoop serving includes 50% of just about everything, including, to my regret, iron. Too much iron can be a particular problem for men, who typically get plenty from their diet. I would not have purchased this product had I known it had added iron. (I had unfortunately relied on The Vitamin Shoppe to get something as straightforward as that correct.) Aside from the iron, I generally try to avoid products like this as I already take a multi-vitamin and don't need more. I will use up this tub slowly over time, but will never buy it again.

I'm very excited that I found this product. Just got it in the mail tonight and I whipped up my first drink...coconut milk, cinnamon, honey, blackberries, strawberries and then the chai powder. I thought that it tasted fantastic. I can definitely taste the chai influence in there. Most of all I'm happy to find a protein powder that isn't soy or whey based (or filled with terrible ingredients). I'm new to the brand and new to sprout based proteins. I think it's going to be a while before I will buy more (it's a decent sized container) but I will repurchase again when the time comes. As a 23 year old female I'm not using this product for weight loss, but more so as a nutritious organic meal on the go or to fill me up after weight training and cardio.

Tired this brand for the first time and I was pretty impressed. I first tried the powder with just almond milk, and it was ok. I managed to drink it, but it didn't taste great, it was very powdery. The next morning I tried it with a banana and some coconut water and it was great, very enjoyable. The plain flavor doesn't really resemble chai at all, more like a vanilla. What I liked the most is it kept me full for hours and I only used the smaller serving size (1/2 the scoop). It says this is a "snack" serving, but especially if you add fruit, I think its more than enough. Perhaps if you are a full grown man, you need the entire serving for a meal. Also you really need a blender to mix it properly.

Mariesa K: I have Raw Meal 2x/day. My flavor of choice is chocolate cacao. When I'm wanting to mix w/berries, bananas, almond butter, I use vanilla spiced chai. If you're a fan of chai, I think you'll enjoy it.
In terms of keeping you full, it's going to depend on how you make your shake. I blend w/almond milk, water, coconut water, flax & chia, fresh spinach & kale and sometimes half banana. For a caffeine kick, I add ground, instant espresso (freshly brewed espresso would be even better).
                    Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Kiara M: This keeps me pretty full, I try and blend it with ice and milk for a more thicker, creamier consistency. I have only tried the Chai flavor and the Chocolate. Beware as these taste earthy and wholesome...after reading some reviews, you would think some people expected a spiced chai flavor from Starbucks or something. I love healthy drinks and I can forego taste when I know it is doing my body good :) May 5, 2014

Albert C: Due to the high fiber content this will keep you full
depending on the serving size. I take 1 scoop as a snack
in 8 -10 oz of almond milk or rice milk. Makes a smoothy
like consistency. Take 2 scoops for a thicker drink.
I like the taste of the vanilla chai the best. It's not
overly sweet so it works just fine with unsweetened beverages.

                    Vincent B: Hi...

Yes... I have it every morning for breakfast. I do add fruits and greens to it. But I also have had the fruits and greens without the Raw Meal , and it is because of this that I can say it is far more filling with the Raw Meal. I usually have it by 8:30 - 9 AM every morning, and have no cravings until around 1 - 2 PM.

                    Hope this helps!

Monique R: Yes, I highly recommend "Raw Meal". This keeps me full and not uninterested in food for at least 4 hours. Two scoops makes the drink more solid then liquid. I recommend 1.5 scoops for that reason.
The Chai flavor doesn't really taste like Chai but is is still good. I stick with Vanilla and mix it mostly with water and about 1/4 cup orange juice.

Christopher W: The webpage displayed for Raw Meal Mini - Vanilla Spiced Chai states the product is vegan, which means it is free of animal products such as dairy and eggs. The product is also listed as "soy free," meaning that it does not contain soy or soy derived ingredients.

Nonetheless, for serious inquiries such as consumption and allergies (nuts and the above) you absolutely should contact the manufacturer directly and not anyone else before you make the final decision.
