This oil is good for massaging into dry skin. I use it a lot during the dry winter months to prevent skin cracking and drying out. The only downside is that you have to massage it in really well as it can be greasy.

Comments about Home Health Castor Oil Cold - 8 Fluid Ounces Liquid:

this minimally processed castor oil has such denseness it stays in place for many hours. cold pressing preserves the top qualities of all seed/veggie oils, so its a must. i use it before bed and wake up with the sheen still in place where applied. the inital layer absorbs and the outer layer coats. a little goes a long way.

i got it to test a theory that it shrinks moles into non existence over a few months time. im not far enough into that experiment to tell if it works. but for overall skin coating & soothing this can't be beat. next time i have a burn or severe drying or an issue with any patch of skin, this will be my go-to.

blend with neem, almond seed, grapeseed, & almost any seed oils, plus unfiltered apple cider vinegar and a little sugar(!) for some major skin love. smooth on or dissolve in a bath

Comments about Home Health Castor Oil Cold - 8 Fluid Ounces Liquid:

I have been using castor oil for about a month mix with rosemary oil for scalp treatment (thinning hair, hair fall out) and it has done a great job from my hair falling out , it's way less than before. It is a thicker consistency so I do rub it through my fingers to heat it up so my scalp can absorb it quicker... I have no complaints with this oil.

I original bought this product for my nummular excema but it didnt work, so I stop using it for my skin. then I read an article saying its good for ethnic hair. I started using it and my hair started growing more. I usually grow one inch a month. With the oil, it started growing two inch a month. Its a bit oily , a little can go a long way.

Comments about Home Health Castor Oil Cold - 8 Fluid Ounces Liquid:

I originally ordered this castor oil as a healing medicine for a really bad ear infection I had. My Aunt actually recommended that I use it since her daughter and her both had ear infections at the same time. Not only did this castor oil clear up my ear infection, I have used on my skin and hair, and it works wonders. It's very cheap for the amount you get, i'm surprised this isn't more expensive by now. I've heard a lot of talk about what castor oil can do, it goes on for days and days. I adhere to it being good for the body, skin, hair, and of course ear infections. This stuff will last you months if you use it on a daily basis, if not it will last you even longer. I completely recommend this product.

I purchased Home Health Castor Oil for use on my hair with hopes of it thickening the strands and promoting growth. I'm happy to say that it has done both. I'll continue to use it on my hair and on my skin to lock in moisture, as it is a heavy oil.

does this product go to the roots of your hair and how long do you leave it on?
A Vitamin Shoppe customer on Jul 28, 2014
Best Answer: In my opinion, this is an oil that is good for massaging your scalp. It is also good for the ends of your hair as a sealant. I would like to caution that you do keep in my mind that this is a thick oil. It is not able to penetrate through the cortex of the hair. So those with fine strands and thin density of hair should use this oil sparingly if it to be incorporated in the styling stage and thinned out with a much lighter oil or unless this is part of a deep hair treatment that you will later wash out of your hair.

if i do use this product on my hair, do i put it on dry and not wash hair first? then wash it? or just leave it in?
                  melissa k on Jun 16, 2014
Best Answer: In my opinion it depends on why you are applying the Castor Oil. If it is for a pre-poo (done on dry hair), I would mix this with a one of the lighter oils, like grapeseed oil. Heat them in a microwaveable bowl just a little. Mix them well and apply to your hair. Massage into your scalp and throughout your hair. Put on a shower cap for about an 30 minutes. Or under a steamer or hood dryer on low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then cleanse as usual. If you are using this as an after wash conditioner and plan to leave it in to provide conditiong to your hair, then again mix in a small amound with another light carrier oil (grapeseed, jojba, argan) or try mixing in a small amount into your leave-in coditioner. Apply lightly mostly from mid shaft to the ends of your hair. Remember this is a heavy carrier oil. So use the "light hand" as opposed to the "heavy hand" for your use with this natural product. So yes, there is a time Castor oil is used on dry and yes, there is a time for wet hair application in conjunction with it serving leave-in duty. It is a favorite for all hair types but in particular those folks with thicker and/or kinky-licious hair!
