Comments about KAL Balanced K2 - 60 Tablets:

I was taking 2 pills a day due to my body's inability to absorb many nutrients following bariatric surgery, but had to reduce the dose after my recent labwork indicated too high a Vitamin K1 level. I may not be bruising quite so easily since taking these.

The other K2 supplements I looked at included other ingredients which i am already accounting for, and this is a good price per dose.

I have been using this since I discovered that K2 plays a major role in keeping the arteries, particularly the cardiac arteries flexible and eliminating fatty deposits on them. I've seen dramatic changes after having had several coronary artery blockages. Thus I continue taking this without missing it.

It's my understanding K2 must be taken with vitamin D, is this right? And I heard that about 40-50 mcg is the normal dose.
A Vitamin Shoppe customer on Nov 23, 2014
Best Answer: I had back surgery and had to take high doses of calcium. K 2 directs the calcium to the bone to avoid any other problems like gallstones. I don't know about its use with Vit D.

          is this product vegetarian?
A Vitamin Shoppe customer on Jan 31, 2014
Best Answer: I don't have the bottle, so I cannot be certain about the ingredients; however, I am using "NOW" brand K-2 100 mcg which says on the label "100 veg capsules". The back of the label has the following also: "Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, egg, fish, shellfish, or tree nut ingredients." It is made with cellulose for the capsule, and rice flour, maltodextrin and silica.
Sounds veggie and chemical and vitamin to me.
