Just wanted to know why this product didn't come in later quantites. Is it that you are supposed to take the seven day and then off or what? Even if this is true it still wouldn't make any difference of about how many is in the bottle.

Robert D asked: My wife is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and her cortisol levels appear to be too level as a result. I was told that licorice contains an enzyme that helps the body produce cortisol by stimulating the adrenals. Have you used it for this purpose, and has it been effective? Jan 21, 2013

Gena B: My adrenal issues may be a little different. My cortisol levels were nomal the only time I did the 24 hour saliva test. I had been taking Licorice for two months prior to that test. I have continued taking 450 mg/day for adrenal support. I am seeing a gradual improvement in my adrenal function. I am also getting Sacral-Occipital Therapy from a chiropractor. I eliminated caffeine & sugar. I take triple ginseng for mental alertness and physical energy (substitute for caffeine). I take a lot of other supplements and adaptogenic herbs as well, including supplements that help with mitochondrial function and cell regeneration. There was no single event that led to my adrenal stress. Rather, I was under stress for years. I also seem to have an ideopathic condition that led to multiple food intolerances. My adrenals seem to be healing slowly. If I overdo physical exertion, I have adrenal crashes and make myself vulnerable to getting sick from viruses. Although I did not know what happened at the time, my first adrenal crash was in the spring of 2009. These crashes involve deep exhaustion, loss of motor control (dragging my feet or walking stooped over like an old woman), and crying. They feel like weakness emanates from deep within. The fact that I have these episodes is more valuable information than a normal saliva test.
This is a very thorough and helpful article at holistic primary care dot net called Herbal Options for Managing Adrenal Fatigue.

Robert D: Thank you so much for your response. Actually, your situation may not be as different from my wife's as you think. My wife is 55 and she was abused as a child. Most of those memories were buried until 3 months ago when she started remembering some of the worse things. She has had mild depression off and on for years and the stress of the past has been building up. We thought it might be PTSD because once all of the trauma from the past was brought back up, she "crashed." She has been suffering from exhaustion, periods of uncontrollable crying, and twice she has literally frozen and couldn't move. I read the article you recommended, as well as several others, and it appears that she is suffering from adrenal fatigue.
I also found a website through which we can obtain and have analyzed the saliva test.
Thank you again for your response because it has led me in a direction that I believe is very promising and provides some hope of treatment. Jan 28, 2013
                      Joe P: Helo Robert,

I use it to lessen the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome.

It does have a wide variety of positive uses, including where it could be suggested to stimulate the adrenals.

                      "Can cause mild adrenal stimulation."

Also Licorice root is a stimulant to a th1 th2 balance. if she does have a auto immune issue u might mess her up more.I would see a alternative Dr to get more testing . Like a 24 hour cortisol test. Dori D: Sorry about the PTSD. I am not aware of the use for cortisol stimulation. I am using it to treat peri-menopause. For me, if I have read several studies of it being effective I would try it. Licorice root is not harmful and for a Woman it is a beneficial herb. I pray your wife has a quick recovery and finds alternative herbs helpful. Jan 22, 2013
