I don't ever write reviews but in good Karma... Becoming a new mother, I've been unfortunate. I haven't been able to produce milk for my baby. After trying everything to produce and failing, I had to put my 2 week old on formula. I had then stepped into a nightmare. Baby had continuous stomach pains. Her gas would build up and become explosive. I've asked mothers and doctors for suggestions. I've tried half a dozen different formulas to see which ones gave her less stomach aches. The ones that are made to help Colic babies did help a little but they are corn starch based and are not healthy for babies. It brought me into tears and broke my heart seeing my little girl tightening her whole body and holding her breath in pain, jerking in discomfort while trying to sleep, and then crying her eyes out for 2 days because Nestle Good Start was not a good start and was the worse and last formula that we tried. My brother came to visit and told me to try goat's milk. He never tried it before but read that it was good. So, I researched and read that infants should not be put on it because it's deficient in some areas but I was desperate. I bought this powdered goat milk and mixed it with her formula (half and half). In the next 4 days, we noticed that she was having less and less stomach pains. She is now 8 weeks old and she has about 90% less pains and on the great days 99% less. It's helped her poo more frequently. Warning: Poos and farts become way more stinky! HURRAY FOR GOATS!!

The website showed the product as gourmet goat milk; however, I got a different product that was not the same as what described online!

The can was not labeled as gourmet goat milk;and the taste was not the same as the product I bought previous time. It did not taste as creamy.

It would take a long drive to the store, so I just had to drink it!

Comments about Meyenberg Goat Milk - 12 Ounces Powder:

My daughter was born with a cleft palate and was not able to nurse. I pumped for her for 5 months but was unable to keep my supply up due to my body not recognizing the pump like that of a real infant. She did not tolerate commercial formulas and personally I did not feel they were good for her. Upon talking to my doctor, a nutritionist, and reading Dr. Sear's suggestions about using goat's milk since it is one of the closest milks to human milk
I tried it for my daughter. We also added organic coconut milk, probiotics, and other organic ingredients to make it as close to breastmilk as possible. The difference is amazing! In one years time she has only gotten sick once and that was with a common cold.

Comments about Meyenberg Goat Milk - 12 Ounces Powder:

Our infant is allergic to cow's milk. And we LOVE using Meyenberg Goat Milk for his formula...which we mix with a few other things...like infant vitamins, baby acidophillus and some beneficial oils. When breastfeeding for the first year, we used it as a supplemental formula once or twice a day. And now that our little one is weaned, we use it exclusively. The only downfall is cost, as we go through about 1.5 containers per week. But there are a lot of great recipes on line and it is a really high quality product. Good luck!

Using goat's milk due to digestive issues and it has caused no stomach upset. Has a slightly "cheesey" taste if more than 1-2 teaspoons are used. Has a nice creamy texture; I will be trying it in my homemade pumpkin pies this fall. My 4 star rating is due to it not dissolving well. You have to add really hot water to it and even then you will still have a little bit of undisolved particles. Overall I think it is a very good product.

I have been using this for about two months. I have cronic stomach and digestive problems from past medication, and this is very good in providing relief. When burning starts, a couple of drinks and it usually stops. It was very easy to get accustomed to the taste. Works great for me.

I have given Meyenberg Goat Milk to all 3 of my children. My 1 yr old is currently drinking this brand of goat milk instead of cow's milk. Due to milk allergies this has been a better choice for us. I have ordered through this site for about 3yrs now. Sadly I can say this recent price increase of about $1.40 has caused me to order elsewhere. It seems they are consistenly increasing the cost about a $1 or more a year. Even with a Vitamin Shoppe coupon and their points program it is cheaper through another common website. I would recommend this product, but would suggest searching other sites before ordering here.

This works great for my 1 year old son. He is allergic to milk and we bought fresh goats milk for the last few months but the goat farmer does not milk in the winter to make it easier on goats. This is a great substitute. He loves it!

As soon as my son made 1 year old, his stomach did okay with cow's milk, but still had some issues. The doctor's office said to mix the enfamil toddler formula with cow's milk weaning his stomach to the cow's milk. By doing this, I actually ended up spending more money. My mom has been doing the goat's milk for him. My son has also been sick with the flu one week and the stomach flu the next. This caused him to throw up cow's milk and did better with the goat's milk. Till today, he does more goat's milk and not much cow's milk.

Tried this for my little toddler. He loves it! And it doesn't cause the massive skin reactions he gets to cow milk and soy. I was skeptical when family told me to try it. But I've been won over. Cheaper than formula and so convenient to order from Vitaminshoppe! Great product!

Powdered version is great in shakes, soups, gravies, and stores longer than LQ. Quick to use, dissolves well. Goat's Milk is Healthier and tastes better than SOY.

In an attempt to lose weight, I'm trying my best to control unnecessary calories. My biggest weakness is coffee, with half-n-half. I cannot drink coffee with regular milk, it does not taste right, thus I use half-n-half. However, it has a lot of calories and certain times of the year I think the liquid milk products seem to carry extra bacteria and spoils easily, I seem to get sick certain times of year after having it in my coffee. Also, I tried the non-dairy creamer, which I discovered is literally poison, scary stuff what's in it. Google non-dairy creamer and read what's in it, you will stop using it right away. I just started using the goat milk powder for my coffee and it tastes great!! At first, I would sprinkle the powder in the coffee but it would take awhile to dissolve. I now make up goat milk creamer. I put 2 cups of warm water in blender, then add 1 cup of goat milk powder and blend. The consistency and taste is just right. Other family members agree it taste like cream. Hope this helps. Happy goat milk drinking!!

My family has a history of trouble digesting cows milk so I decided to start my child on goats milk after I was done bfing. I've had no issues and she loves the taste. It's actually the closest thing to breast milk. I never added any additional sugars like honey or corn syrup--it's plenty sweet! I sometimes drink this milk too when I'm out of regular milk and don't mind the taste at all. It's also got vitamin D and plenty of fat and my healthy child is proof that it's good for her.

We tried every milk in the market and nothing worked (constipation, vomits, etc.). This milk is GREAT! It doesn't taste bad, however we add a little bit of honey. Also my 9 months old baby has to be in formula since this one is not recommended for infants(0-1 year) but we add 2 ounces of goat's milk to his formula because is the only way that he won't be constipated but don't add the honey (there's a medical reason for babies under 1 year old ...). It's worth it to try!

Takes 24 hours but is easier to mix up since it's already sterilized. Worth the wait. It keeps my blood sugar steady throughout the day and I bring it to work for my lunch. In a pinch, the milk alone brings me up from a low blood sugar crash so I can cook something up.

Relative recommended goats milk and it has worked great. Baby is happy and healthy. I now look forward to feeding time. Very healthy, closest to breastmilk.

I make homemade yogurt which requires a powdered milk to help thicken. I used to use Carnation powdered cow's milk until I found this. Most grocery stores, including big chains like Wal-Mart stock it, but I'm not sure who has the best price. I like Vitamin Shoppe's policies and ways of doing business, so I buy it from them.

I know others you can't tolerate cow dairy but, do fine on goat cheeses and goat milk. I am sure it has lactose but, it's possible he isn't sensitive to goat lactose? I'm not sure how that works to be honest but, I just know that many that can't tolerate cow products do fine on goat products. Hope this helps!

I've tried soy and it didn't help, I've tried nutramigen and he won't eat it, I don't know what else to do and i've heard goats milk is all some babies can have, wondering if this one is ok for a 6 month old?

However, I have learned that it has far more protein and more of some other nutrients than breast milk, and therefore can harm some baby's kidneys. After 6 months of age, it's likely safer, but you should really find a Naturopathic Doctor in your area (one who went to a US Dept of Education accredited school, not an online school) and get details on a good recipe, if you want to try it. I think Dr. Sears also has a recipe on his website.

We gave our 9 week premature triplets a formula made from this, carrot juice and vitamins and minerals starting at 7 weeks, they had breast milk the first 6. They have grown beautifully and are super healthy. They drank it until 18 months as formula and now just drink goat milk. Make sure you don't get the low fat or fat free version, they need the fat!!

It is more like human milk than cow milk and goats are not traditionally fed antibiotics or growth hormones like cattle. It has all the amino acids necessary for a child to grow and thrive. I raised my children on goat milk and they thrived.

I bought this milk powder numerous times and have used it in every recipe that calls for milk powder or milk. To make milk, just mix with hot water since cold water is much more difficult to completely dissolve the powder. As to the powder/water ratio, I always double the suggested quantity of the powder because I like the rich and creamy flavor of goat milk. But please be aware, it will make nice goat milk and goat milk does NOT taste like cow's milk. Some people cannot even bear to smell the goat milk. But if you already take the fresh goat milk, this powdered version is just convenient to use. Hope it helps.
