Can I use the Triphala for my 2-year old who has chronic constipation? I am also considering getting the papaya enzyme for her. Which one would be best (for her to be able to take and enjoy)? She has chronic constipation.

Best Answer: I love Papaya Enzyme for my digestion after eating peanuts or Chili. But keep in mind, I'm a 60 year old Physician. I honestly don't know anything about Triphala Interna, but I would not give it to my granddaughter until I had cleared it with her Pediatrician. I was taught over and over in Medical School....pediatric patients are not just "little" adults. They respond VERY DIFFERENTLY to medications (and supplements) than adults. A prime example: some adults become sleepy after taking Benadryl, while the same dose of Benadryl in a child may cause them to become hyper. On a personal note, Phenergan (promethazine) usually reduces nausea and vomiting in adults, but when my teenager took it, she went crazy wild with hallucinations, visions, and bugs and spiders crawling all over the walls...! She's 31 now, but we're still afraid to give her promethazine.
      Hope this helps...
