The raw body butter has all healthy ingredients a rare find. It takes a few minutes to absorb then stays on the skin all day and moisturizes deep into the skin. The smell is wonderful and usually does not cause allergy problems due to the essential oil content.

Comments about Nubian Heritage Raw Infused Shea Butter w/Frankincense & Myrrh - 4 Ounces Solid:

Living in the Midwest the winter has been extremely rough on my sensitive skin. Doing a little research I found the same thing coming up. Raw shea butter. I decided to see if the vitamin shoppe carried any and wa-la they did. Cleared my winter ezcema up in a flash. I use daily to protect from future flare ups. I also love to use this on my face at night. I wake up and my skin is so soft. It does take some time getting used to it's extreme thickness, but I keep it in a bathroom where the temp is pretty warm in the winter. This makes the top layer a little softer so I can easily apply to my skin, but seriously still like butter. Once it hits your skin and you blend in, it melts nicely. LOVE IT!

I love the smell of this product and it makes my very dry skin soft, even in the cold winter months. It's quite thick, so I like to mix it with some other oil to thin out.

I use the hand cream during the day and this product at night. I slather it on my hands and feet and they have never felt so mositurised. My cuticles are amazing. My husband uses this on his face and as he has a dry scalp, uses it as a hair pomade as well.

None of the reviews mentioned this but is anyone else's product grainy? I have tried to rub it in but tiny little white grains persist and fall off. I think the product would really be great if I could somehow eliminate or break down these particles. Smells really good though. Thanks
                    Anne B on May 19, 2015
Best Answer: I don't think this is a defect, per say. I'm trying to remember but one of my containers had an initial grainy feel and just a quick hand rubbing didn't get rid of it. But best advice is to microwave it (low, quick) until it's a liquid. In that form take a look. If you still see particles then yes, you may have some type of contamination. If they disappeared then it's just the way the solids formed. My jars have lasted for over a year in a home without AC. So from time to time my solid oils melt and reform (coconut oil especially). Everything remains usable and smells great. Of course if I keep them too long I may eventually have a problem with it becoming rancid - however a year later, in tightly closed jars, in a dark cabinet, they are still fine. But I should hurry up and use them.

By the way, sometimes I also use the oil as a type of perfume. Meaning I place some oil on my neck and back of ears. Because it's not strong, the only way to really "smell my perfume" is if you are hugging me or very close to me. Which IMHO is how perfume should be. I've gotten many compliments on the soft smell. Not flowery. Not spicy, fruity, or wintergreen. Just soothing and mellow without putting you to sleep.

Why is it listed as 'soy free' when the ingredients include soy milk?
                    Nora H on Oct 23, 2015
Best Answer: It doesn't have soy. Vitamin Shoppe placed the wrong description in. Per my jar (4 oz) I have only Shea Butter, extracts of Frankincense and Myrrh, Vitamin E, andan Essential oil bland. No matter how you look at it, Soy (either oil or milk) is not essential. Also the company site lists the same ingredients as I do. The black pepper should have been the tip off as well as the ounces.
