My husband had a heart attack at 55 and had 6 stents put in. He has been having a hard time getting his cholesterol numbers down. The numbers did not come down much using Omega 3's, but when he began using a good quality krill oil, the numbers dropped by about 100 points. It's a little higher in price than some oils, but well worth it.

Comments about Source Naturals Neptune Krill Oil 500 MG - 60 Softgels:

I took fish oil for many years and figured I'd just have to put up with the fishy aftertaste. I also have GERD. I read an article that said fish oil can exacerbate GERD and to try krill oil. My stomach problems disappeared in two days and there's no fishy aftertaste. The smell is rather nasty but the results are great, although I don't know if it's the krill oil or diet.

Anyone that has an issue with taste or smell is just plain unreasonable. There is a smell if you stick your nose in the bottle. I would just stop doing that. There is no taste, aftertaste or burping of any kind. Buy this with confidence.

I am a strong believer using Krill oil to increase Omega-3's in my everyday diet. This product is a very good value to quantity of pills/dosage - even better than what I can buy at Costco! My only dis-satisfaction with this capsule is that they are sticky and oily to the touch, leaving behind a reddish residue on my hand and daily container that I portion them into.

Good product. I think krill oil is great for the body. I like the shape of the pills, but they are so stinky! I was shocked when I unscrewed the bottle and it didn't have one of those packets inside that absorb odor. Luckily I have a bunch left over from the Vitamin Shoppe brand products that always have it, so I could just throw one in there.

Best Answer: no it doesn't need refrigeration but this brand is not optimum dosage for the results you want.. initially it contained all the ingredients the were recommended by Dr. Oz then they changed the formula saying there was an accident in the artic and couldn't get the krill... I found another brand with the optimum dosage needed to get the benefit of taking it in the first place!

Does this product contain any type of soy at all?...like tocopherols (vitamin E) or any other form of soy. I can't seem to find any fish oil that doesn't have any soy in it. I found a few saying they have removed the soy protein , often the allergic trigger, but still contain soy to some degree. I am looking for no soy whatsoever!

The ingredients listed are: omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, DHA, phospholipids, astaxanthin, gelatin, glycerin and purified water. Does anyone know if and how many carbs are found in these pills? They contain gelatin so I assume some.
