Terrance D asked: does liqui-k help with kidney stones? Mar 1, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Tara B: Hi Terrance,

As you already know, increasing your potassium is recommended to help in the treatment of kidney stones. If you choose to do this by supplements, any potassium supplement would help. Often, potassium citrate iis recommended because it can be easier to absorb sometimes. Personally, I think it is a good idea to vary the types of potassium you take if you need to take a lot. Different types react in the body in different ways. Liqui-K is wonderful because it can be easier on the stomach than any other form and for some people this is important. The most important thing to remember with potassium is to take it with food and to spread out your dosages throughout the day to avoid having to take a large amount at any one time. That's the main side effect of taking potassium - it is hard on the gut. Just be cautious when using the liquid that you don't take more than intended.

Elaine M: I think Terrence should see his physician before taking this supplement.---most people with kidney issues are cautioned NOT to take potassium supplements, so see a doc, Terrence. You may be doing yourself more harm than good. Mar 4, 2013
