Not only is this coconut oil good for cooking, but it also is useful for the skin. I divide it, and have a small jar in the bathroom to rub on my skin and scalp. I keep the jar for cooking in the refrigerator.

My husband has heart disease, and thru reading found out that it does not contribute to sticky blood cells, or raise blood cholesterol. And is burned as energy and will not likely go to the butt or stomach.Winner! Winner! Winner! Winner!

Denise W: I dont know. I dont buy this brand.. I buy Vitamin Shoppee only because I've tried a couple others and like this VS taste best. I DONT like that it comes in plastic rather than glass.. but it's 100% organic, unrefined, cold pressed. Hardly any flavor- my perfect cooking oil since i NEVER use high heat. Apr 8, 2013

Jeremiah C: Yes it really should be. Unlike olive oil there isnt a huge mafia plan that passes off soybean, sunflower and all other inferior oils as olive oil. It really must be 100% pure... maybe theres like 0.001% of some coconut shell in there..? Apr 8, 2013

Duane N: Yes it is. It is a refined oil, meaning it can stand a higher heat and it does not have a coconut smell or flavor.
For those that it matters, it is bottled in a facility that produces peanut oil. Apr 8, 2013

Chanetra G: It is quite oily so I wouldn't use it under make-up. It is great as a night time moisturizer. You should use tea tree oil for acne and blemishes, it's a natural antiseptic, avoid getting it into your eyes. As far as the weight loss, all I can say is it is a very healthy oil. I cook with it all the time. Also look into getting some spirulina it has helped my skin because of all the chlorophyll and beta-carotene. Drink it daily. Mar 26, 2013

Leslie D: Coconut oil may certainly be used as a moisturizer. As to the other two uses (blemishes and weight loss), I have no knowledge of its possible benefits in those areas. Mar 26, 2013
