I have IBS and have taken digestive enzymes for the last year trying to help ease the gas and bloating. I ordered these thinking it was the same ones I ordered before. Not the same. First off, the smell is like dead fish. Not sure what they put in these to make them smell this way, makes you wonder. I don't know if they work as well because I haven't taken them as regular because of the smell. I seem to belch more at first before they relieve the pain and bloating. Unlike the others, I don't seem to get the bloating after eating if I have taken the others. They are hard tablets, not capsules. I went back to my order history and the ones I would recommend is the The Vitamin Shoppe Digestive Enzymes. They worked the best.

Don't bother with this product. POOR value, smells horrible, tastes even more horrible, and when I did force myself to choke them down, I noticed NO benefit from it. For a product claiming to have no fish in it, it certainly smells and tastes like it. Minty rotten fish pills that provide no relief... *gag* You've been warned! I have 3/4 of a bottle left and have no idea what to do with it. :(

Take two after meals and wait for it to work. Works for me as advertised. Nothing negative to say about the product. Certainly doesn't smell like fish as one complained.

They read the reviews and improved the smell. FOr a while there it was really bad. Much better now! Make a huge difference in the foods I can eat!

This product smells like peppermint not fishy at all and it works well. Maybe these other posters have a different product.

I've only been using these a couple days, but I can already tell they are making a difference. I've been dealing with mild IBS symptoms most of my life and I don't want prescription treatment. I've been taking digestive enzymes, but haven't noticed a difference. A friend recommended this brand, so I just switched to these. I've been bloat and gas free for days - and that's a miracle in my world!

I have been using these enzymes for years and they work very well. I was so surprised to see complaints about the smell- never noticed it at all until I read these reviews! I noticed over time that they keep much better if I store them in the refrigerator, tightly closed. That way they do not absorb moisture or heat and I think this keeps them from having an odor. Anyway, very good value and they WORK really well, which is the whole point of buying them , right?

Have tried to contact the Vitamin Shoppe management, to let them know of my displeasure with this terrible product. Upon opening this container, smells like fish house in 99 degree weather that has not been cleaned in 20 days. Foul smelling. Highly suggest that anyone thinking of buying this product reconsider. Also, know that The Vitamin Shoppe Management are non-existent if you have a problem. They take your money and nothing else. Will never deal with this Company again.Using other internet Companies now for our family nutrient needs, and much happier.

I used to take an ox bile enzyme (which, coincidentally, is in this product) that would make this supplement smell like warm sugar cookies. I think the odor is an indicator that these work- digestive enzymes generally stink.

I am very impressed with this product! I have tried many different products for years, including home remedies. This product helps speed up your digestive system, which helps eliminate gas, acid reflux, and a bloated stomach. I have only purchased this product twice now and I can honestly say I haven't had any problems with an overwelming smell. The smell is horrid. I just can't do it any more. I've switched to another product line with no odor. It smelled up my storage closet where I kept them, and I worried that it might make my breath smell. I'm not willing to tough it out any more. They have got to figure out a way to fix that smell. Other digestive enzymes do not have the same smell.

This product works great - smells like peppermint and is easy to swallow (don't know what others are complaining about)- AND they are a real value!! I have been using digestive enymes for decades and now my 91 year old father takes them also. We are both very satisfied with this product.

I've been taking a Multi-enzyme for 20 years with each meal. I'm 59, 125 lbs, and active. Most of my friends take Prilosec or have digestive problems (except the ones who have taken my advice), but I can eat pizza at 10pm if I want to with no problem. I used to get bloated easily, but not with these. I'm sensitive to dairy, but as long as I have my Multi-enzymes along, I can cheat on occasion. My husband and I always take them with us when we travel or go out to eat, too. I love them!

The multi enzyme is very helpfull with my digestive issues I have been taking them for several years. They are very smelly recently I may look for another brand / But i do recomend them if you can get past the smelly hard to swallow tabletsl

I have been using this product for over 10 years and was always satisfied with its quality and effectiveness. There is nothing on the market that is this complete in its list of digestive enzymes. I purchase two bottles in my last order during a Buy One Get One 1/2 Price Sale in April. The first bottle opened was fine, like all others. The second bottle, opened mid June, had a FOUL, FISHY ODOR. When I tried to return this bottle, customer service told me that they were using a new process and that the product's quality was safe. I don't believe it!! No supplement should smell this bad! I had to fight for return authorization and will only get a merchandise credit. I really hope Vitamin Shoppe rectifies this problem. If not, I will no longer do business with them.

I ordered tis product in the biggest bottle you can get " 600 and they had a very bad smell .I sent those back and they sent me some more which also had the same bad smell. the first ones in smaller bottles were fine. I hope they find out what the problem is because I was pleased with the first ones

I just bought some (first time) and they smell bad too. Did you conclude that they are not suppose to smell? Are they still safe and effective to take or did you not take them?

I had them before this batch and loved them now this bottle smells terribly fishy and i have encountered more stomach upset than before.

due to my gut feeling bloated for a day, i asked my represenative of vitamin shoppe what he would recommend for my bloated feeling, he recommended this multi enzyme, wow, My bloated feeling subsided greatly, I had a slight acid reflux but that too receded greatly after awhile, i feel this multi enzymes did work for my bloated gut, stomach uneasiness , and done away that acid pain as well, I give this one 2 thumbs up!!!

Multi Enzymes have been a life saver for me when i eat foods too hot and spicy. I take a few in a baggie for emergies when i go out to eat. They are much cheaper and work much beter than Beano. Make sure you take them only after you eat .
