To do that, we\u2019re adding a day of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitaminshoppe.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/16\/hiit-workout-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">high-intensity interval training<\/a> (HIIT), on which you\u2019ll do a series of exercises for short bursts of time, followed by short periods of rest.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve never heard of HIIT, it\u2019s an incredibly efficient way to burn fat and build lean muscle. The key is to push yourself as hard as possible\u2014without sacrificing great form\u2014during the periods where you\u2019re doing an exercise. Full out, max effort.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll continue to strength train three times a week, but this new HIIT day will mix things up and supercharge your fitness.
