In fact, research published in the <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s10654-021-00747-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>European Journal of Epidemiology<\/i><\/span><\/a><i> <\/i>found that one cup of nitrate-rich veggies like spinach per day significantly reduced heart disease risk.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cNitrate acts as a vasodilator, opening up blood vessels and allowing blood to flow more readily, thus lowering blood pressure,\u201d explains Adams.
