Meet Sarah Jamison, M.D., Member Of The Vitamin Shoppe Wellness Council

At The Vitamin Shoppe, we believe that everyone is deserving of wellness. That’s why we assembled a diverse, accomplished team of health and fitness experts to share their tips, tricks, and personal stories online and in-store. Our hope is that this Wellness Council will inspire, motivate, and guide you along the path to your best self.

Meet Dr. Sarah Jamison

Sarah Jamison, M.D., is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who has practiced for over a decade. She is a native New Yorker and a proud alumna of the illustrious Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. After finishing medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, she completed her residency training at Jacobi and Montefiore Medical Centers. During her final year of residency, she served as chief resident.

After working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Sarah was humbled to win Essence Magazine‘s Essential Heroes Award.

Currently, Dr. Jamison is an Emergency Medicine physician in New York City and has served as Director of her Emergency Department’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Within her role as director, Dr. Jamison created and launched the Summer Enrichment and Mentorship Program (SEMP) and the Science, Technology, and Medicine Pipeline Program (STAMP). Both are early exposure pipeline programs for underrepresented minorities in medicine.

When she isn’t in the ER, Dr. Jamison is very active in her community as a freelance medical media personality for multiple media outlets. She uses her platform to provide health and safety education for many of New York City’s medically underserved communities.

Dr. Jamison loves traveling and spending time with her family and is the proud auntie of her nephew, Zion, and nieces, Shiloh and Arielle.

As a member of The Vitamin Shoppe Wellness Council, Dr. Jamison is a source of expansive knowledge on general health.
