Xlear Xylosweet Xylitol 5 Powder

Product Label

Low carbohydrate sweetener - 0grams net carbs per serving. All natural Xylitol sweetener - Sugarsweet with no aftertaste

  • Xylitol is a proven cavity fighter
  • Xylito is safe for use by diabetics & hypoglycemics

What is Xylitol?
Xylitol is the commercial name of a naturally occurring sugar called xylose commonly derived from corncobs and birch tree. It is much like many other sugars, but with a significant difference-the xylose molecule contains only 5 carbon atoms rather than the 6 of most other sugar. This molecular difference is the key to xylitol's beneficial qualities both as a food source and as a bacterial inhibitor in both medical and dental use.

A delicious, low-calorie sweetener
XyloSweet ® has all the sweetness of common sugars, yet has 40% fewer calories. Xylosweet is an ideal alternative sweetener in foods prepared for weight loss or for anyone concerned about the overuse of sugar in their diet. But Xylosweet's low cal sweetening characteristics are only the beginning of its nutritional story.

XyloSweet in Diabetes Management:
XyloSweet can be substituted for most common sweetener without compromising taste or texture. XyloSweet is metabolized without insulin so it creates a significantly lower glycemic effect when eaten-a glycemic index of only 7. Good news for diabetics.

Anti-bacterial Benefits:
XyloSweet inhibits the ability of bacteria to attach to the tissues of the mouth, nose, and throat. This is why physicians are using xyllitol to reduce the symptoms of middle ear infections (otitis media) - particulary in children.

Dental Benefits:
The health benefits of Xylitol extend to dental use as well. XyloSweet in the diet inhibits the ability of bacteria to adhere to the teeth, reducing the production of the acids that dissolve tooth enamel and lead to tooth decay.

XyloSweet is the sweetener for the 21 st Century
As more and more Americans discover xylitol's great taste and many uses, it will soon replace the more commonly used sugars in our diets. And soon, like the people of Scandinavia, Americans will enjoy stronger, healthier teeth, less bacterial infection, and a more sensible and manageable diet through the use of XyloSweet instead of sugar.

Directions

When cooking, replace sugar with XyloSweet in equal measurements. XyloSweet is heat-stable for cooking and baking, it also mixes and dissolves just like common sugar.

Warning

Xylitol requires a brief period of tolerance adjustment. It is suggested that XyloSweet be used in gradually increasing portions over a period of three to six weeks before it is entirely substituted for common sugar.

I haven't received my order for XyloSweet yet, but because I once worked at Xlear, Inc., I know their quality is nothing but the best. I use this sweetener every single day -- not just for cereal or coffee, but for baking as well. I don't understand why most people don't use it instead of sugar every day. Price is a bit more than regular sugar, but I think our health is more important that that. Thanks for having this available to us, Vitamin Shoppe -- it is appreciated! I also use other Xlear products, like their toothpaste, chewing gum (Spry) and mints. and also they have a really good mouth wash -- won't be without it.

I have been usign Xclear Xylitol for last 4 years and I must say that it is the best sugar substitute out there in the market. No after taste whatsoever.
I use it in tea/coffee, cooking and baking. My guests can't even tell if the food is made of regular sugar or Xylitol. I have two friends who are diabetic and they are also hooked up to this product after using it at my place.

Comments about Xlear Xylosweet 5lb (5 LB) - 1 Bag:

Our first experience with Xylitol... mostly good, but it sure isn't cane sugar compatible for cooking. Cookies first, they came out quite cakey and crumbly. Apparently Xylitol doesn't carmelize like cane sugar so the cookies need something else to glue them together. Okaaaay, so brownies were the next try... brownies should be cakey, right? The brownies cooked so fast, ten minutes before they were supposed to be done they were overdone! Flavor was good, but who likes overdone brownies... they'll probably do quite nicely now that we know to bake them for a shorter period.

This is the 4th or 5th bag I've purchased. I primarily use it to assuage sweet cravings. I mix the powder with flavorings in a flat plastic storage container. I add water or juice and leave the mix covered with a paper towel to dry out. I stir it occasionally to break it up and wind up with something resembling rock candy, but more crumbly.

I've used Xylitol since September 2009 to avoid dental cavities, and it seems to be working, so this is why I keep using it despite the price, but I wonder why it costs so much. I drink hot tea with milk and Xylitol all day. Vitamin Shoppe has the best price and fast free shipping so they're my new supplier.

This is the best thing to use for a sugar replacement! We've used it for many years now and absolutely love it. We started using it because my husband was diagnosed with cancer and there is some belief that cancer cells feed on sugar. I don't believe that has been medically verified, but why not do what we can? It tastes, measures and acts exactly as sugar, except it is actually good for you! Fights cavities instead of makes them! Low glycemic, less calories... Bakes perfectly... What's not to like? Everyone should use this for their own health.

Tastes so much like sugar it's amazing. Use the same way as sugar. No after taste, No noticable difference in taste when cooking with this instead of sugar. Yet only 40% of the carbs, much less fattening and protects your teeth too. Lowest cost of all similar products but still pricey. On the other hand, when you compare to other types of sweeteners and how much you get for your money it's a good value in the bulk sizes. Served to guests for their coffee and had no idea it wasn't sugar. Even use it in my chinese cooking and can't tell the difference.

However, after realizing I was exceeding the recommend daily amount, I've switched to stevia (which is an aquired taste). jackie c: Hello Diane:

This product is granules. It only comes in granules no powder form of this product is available. However, if you are looking for a natural sweetner this is an outstanding product, that has a great taste, and leaves no after taste like artificial sweetners. The consistency is just like pure cane sugar. This is hands down the best natural sweenter I have ever used! I highly recommend this product. You won't be disappointed.

Ceci P: This is a granule form. It looks like fresh fallen snow.

Warning though; I used to use it everyday (3+ times a day) for 2 years and it started giving me side attacks by my liver. I did some research and too much can harm the liver as it's a sugar alcohol.

                                      Use it sparingly.

We use it in our hot drinks and also swap out some or all of the sugar called for in baking. Just be mindful of using too much and causing "intestinal distress"!! Mar 21, 2014
