*Pea Protein is a natural, vegetable-based protein powder derived from yellow peas (Pisum sativum). Yellow peas are more commonly known as "split peas" and are used extensively in food preparation such as soups & purees.

*Most commercially available protein powders are derived from soy, rice, eggs, or dairy, which are often problematic for those with allergic dietary concerns. We've chosen Pea Protein because it is a plant-based, hypo-allergenic protein that yields a high biological value (BV) (65.4%). The BV is an accurate indicator of the biological activity of protein. It measures the actual amount of protein deposited per gram of protein absorbed. High BV proteins are a better choice for increased nitrogen retention, enhanced immunity and IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor) stimulation. They are superior for reducing lean tissue loss from various wasting states than lean proteins with a low BV score.**

*Through a clever extraction and purification process, our Pea Protein is concentrated from the normal level of 6% in fresh peas to 90% protein content! This unique process produces a protein powder that is highly soluble and east to digest. Pea Protein is ideal for vegans, offers an excellent nutritionalprofile, is free of gluten, lactose, cholesterol and other anti-nutritional factors.**

Comments about Olympian Labs Pea Protein - Vanilla - 805 Grams Powder:

I use this protein powder every morning. I mix it with frozen blueberries, chia seeds and almond milk. You have to mix this protein powder with a blender like device otherwise the drink will have a chalky, gritty taste.

I like the fact that I can use this powder without any allergic reactions!!

Comments about Olympian Labs Pea Protein - Vanilla - 805 Grams Powder:

I read a lot about not taking the same protein source all the time, so I decided to switch it up with the pea protein. I was happy about the almost non-existant carbs and the idea of a great clean source of vegetable protein. I wasn't excited about how cement-like the consistency is. You need a LOT of water to mix with this, thus making a lot of bulk in your stomach before a workout. It did seem to stick with me and kept me full, but it was hard to swallow the first two times. I have to talk myself into it, but it is nice to rotate into my schedule a couple times a week. This brand was better than one other I tried though.

Comments about Olympian Labs Pea Protein - Vanilla - 805 Grams Powder:

        Wished they had negative stars.
I have taken many supplements and drank numerous protein powders, I would have to say the worse tasting stuff I have ever had. The taste is sickening, you have to add extra water to hurry up and drink it. I wouldn't feed to a prisoner of war.
I picked this protein because it doesn't have soy, but after trying it I will go back to the great tasting muscle milk protein.
I will have to try to put it in a fruity juice or add yogurt and ice to use it up.

Comments about Olympian Labs Pea Protein - Vanilla - 805 Grams Powder:

Just bought a carton today, so it's going to be extensive. But,as far as taste, it's pretty good in my opinion; the taste is similar to a Vanilla Shake.
Mixes easily in a blender and easily drinkable.I'd buy it again.

Caveat if you have gout or arthritis

          By George W

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Olympian Labs Pea Protein - Vanilla - 805 Grams Powder:

I am a 62 year old male. I took this for approximately two weeks and noticed that my joint pain became much worse. Did some research and found that peas are high in purines, which can aggravate gout and joint pain. I stopped using it and the pain subsided within a few days. I will be going back to whey concentrate. Have also used G.O.L. Raw Protein and have had no problems with that.

Comments about Olympian Labs Pea Protein - Vanilla - 805 Grams Powder:

I am a 46yo married father of 7 and I take my health very seriously. I exercise regularly and love to mountain bike. I mix Pea Protein in a fruit smoothie just about everyday to satisfy a large portion of my protein needs. After a little experimentation I found that 8 oz of plain almond milk (Silk) with a banana and frozen berries in a blender make breakfast something to look forward to. I am a recent convert from animal protein and initially had concerns about weight loss and losing strength. I am happy to say that my weight has remained constant and I've experienced no loss in physical ability. I have used Pea Protein for 6 months now and highly recommend it. It is the only supplement I consume.

I've tried many protein shakes and most of them cause stomach upset and gas. Some don't mix well while others taste odd. This pea protein assimilates easily, mixes smoothly and is very satisfying. The first time I used it I really noticed the "pea" flavor but something shifted after that and it wasn't noticeable anymore and I really liked it. I'm on my second canister and continue to be pleased with this product.
