This is easy to mix with just a spoon, causes no bloating, and is a highly absorbable protein. I am a vegetarian and I noticed an improvement with my muscles feeling better after using this protein. People think that whey protein is the best but pea & rice together contain all the essential and non essential plus the branch chain amino acids. Plus it takes up to 4 hours to absorb while whey only takes about 2. Slow absorbing protein like this one is better. Many people have allergies to dairy and don't even know it so whey protein would not be a good choice for them. I read somewhere that if whey gives you gas, you're probably allergic to it. So this is a good alternative. This product has a natural taste, so it's not really flavored so you can add fruit to flavor it. I however just drink it as it is because I don't mind the natural taste of it.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Vegetable Protein Soy-Free - 16 Ounces Powder:

Forget mixing this in oatmeal, soups is more preferable. If you are not a crybaby it mixes fine with water or milk. I just want it in my body. I don't want sweeteners. 22g of protein, and BCAAs all for a very reasonable price! The bad reviews for this product are comical. If you want a protein shake with BCAAs and taste like chocolate, you can pay 4x as much and get Vega Sport chocolate.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Vegetable Protein Soy-Free - 16 Ounces Powder:

I was delighted to find a non-soy / non-dairy source of veggie protein. As folks have said, it's not that great-tasting, but I didn't choose it for its taste. I often use it in my morning oatmeal.

The packaging was what surprised me. Compared with the soy veggie protein, the container is half the size, it's only half-full when you open it ("some settling may occur during shipping"?), the scoop is small, and I can't get my hand in the package when it gets about 1/2 full. I wouldn't mind paying more if they gave me more and it were more convenient to use.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Vegetable Protein Soy-Free - 16 Ounces Powder:

I mix the powder with soy milk and baking cocoa to make a breakfast protein shake. It mixes immediately and makes a highly palatable, digestible drink. I like that it has phytonutrients from many sources. I recently bought soy protein powder instead (to save money) and regret the purchase because the soy doesn't mix easily and I don't like the taste.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Vegetable Protein Soy-Free - 16 Ounces Powder:

I was really surprised that I could get adequate protein and amino acids without having to eat soy or an animal protein. This protein powder works great with smoothies and I also add a half serving to my oatmeal before working out. The taste, while bland, isn't that bad. I've had way worse tasting powders than this. It doesn't ruin the food you mix it in with.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Vegetable Protein Soy-Free - 16 Ounces Powder:

Not a very tasty protein, even when mixed with almond milk and fresh strawberries. I like to make a fruit smoothie every now and then as opposed to my usual mix with water or just almond milk. This protein was very hard to drink. I'm sure it does the job which is great, but the chalky aftertaste was not pleasant at all. Unfortunate that I am judging a protein by taste, since I so very rarely care about flavor. But I suppose since there are so many other proteins on the market that have a great clean taste, I've never had to worry about it. I will go back to my Warrior Blend protein after returning this one. (Another thing that I have NEVER done)

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Vegetable Protein Soy-Free - 16 Ounces Powder:

I liked the idea of a meal-replacement protein shake, and I thought this would be a really great way to drink a protein shake (since I usually really don't like them), but I was really disappointed in the taste of this. I found it pretty difficult to drink the whole thing, actually. A lot of the issue is with personal taste, though, so people who like the taste of protein shakes or enjoy drinking them regularly would probably really like this product.

I drank it after a tough workout, and I did like the way I felt after drinking it. I felt re-fueled, which was great.

I had estrogen positive BC and as a result I stay away from any food or other product that mimics estrogen such as soy. I am not fond of typical breakfast foods and in the past I just skipped it. Since BC, I take better care of myself and that includes a daily breakfast of Naturesade Vegan Soy-free Protein Booster, organic blueberries, spinach and baby kale. I have tried every form of protein powder out there and this is not bad. Frankly, I do not taste the protein at all when prepared as I do. For those that do and do not like it, add a 1/2 a banana. I hope that you will start selling the 2 pound can in the stores as I currently order it online. I go through this small can in 2 weeks.

After having a total thyroidectomy and still being hypothyroid after a year I was advised to omit soy from my diet and add more protein. Vegetable Protein Soy-free Powder worked great for me. I mix 2 scoops in a cup of Greek yogurt everyday and it fulfills my protein requirements for the entire day. Sometimes I mix it in a glass of milk or mix it in oatmeal. It's a fine, rather tasteless powder and mixes easily. I highly recommend it for anyone needing more protein in their diet.

I'm lactose intollerant and this is the only affordable, non-soy product I can find. I mix with my own carbs, shake. Without a blender it doesn't mix well. My only complaint was the size is too small.

I mix it with a scoop of Optimal Nutrition's casein powder (chocolate). Thirty-some grams of protein and reduced the cholesterol intake. Three shakes a day make the majority of my protein intake (Dalai Lama-style vegetarian; I'm a vegetarian at home and, when abroad, eat whatever is put in front of me).

Remember this taste from my childhood. Have grown fond of it.

There are many good things about this product, including the price and the quality. I have grown to love this powder, and I use one scoop everyday in my wheat cereal (with blueberries and almond milk). However, the first time I tasted this I thought it was disgusting. It literally tasted like styrofoam. But I thought I would at least finish my cereal and, by the time I was finished, I really grew to like the taste of this powder. It was a weird experience but now I look forward to having the powder each morning.

I make my own fruit smoothies. I use to add Pea protein that I would buy from Sprouts but it was so expensive!!! This does the job just fine. I don't intend to switch again

                                Why the bran and fiber?

I didn't mind the bland taste. I wasn't too bothered that it turned my oatmeal into concrete. What I couldn't stand was that it made me go to the bathroom every couple of hours. This was probably caused by the added bran and fiber. Why add bran and fiber? When I buy whey, I don't get bran and fiber. When I want fiber, I'll eat the fiber of my choice.

This only has one gram of fiber per serving, that's pretty low. You must not be used to fiber.

Since the average person is supposed to take 25-30 grams/fiber/day, 1 gram per serving seems ridiculously low. I assume that it is added to prevent caking. Would you have preferred that they added silica dioxide - sand - which is very common?

This is the most disgusting thing I've ever had (and I like "healthy" tasting things). I am taking it back to the store today and trading for something else. I used only 1 scoop instead of 2, into vegetable juice (the only mixer that tasted alright with it), and it still made the shake so thick and gritty. It would not disolve at all and was like drinking sand. Nutritionally it looks fantastic though, I will give it that, I just can't stomach it.
