Yes, it still helps, but the earlier you take it, the sooner you will get better. To be honest, expect that the symptoms worsen on day 3, but then day 4 you will feel leaps and bounds better! It definitely shortens the duration of a cold or flu! This works by helping your immune system fight! The presence of symptoms says that your immune system is fighting. Be consistent with taking it. It is worth it!

  No, I have tried it after the onset but it doesn't seem to work. Although, I think it helps reduce my symptoms. I absolutely love this product but it only works when you take it at the first sign of a cold or flu. Like a sore throat, etc. I always keep plenty on hand.

  I think Oscillo is effective any time you start taking it. I keep a lot on hand, especially during the winter months and take it at the very first sign of "anything" that seems like a suspicious symptom.

In reference to your question, the small granules may be difficult for a young child to keep under their tongue. You may want to try the Children's Oscillo instead.
