I do not have direct experience with Natural Calm and Autism. I use this product to calm my nervous system when I am overstimulated due to food, environmental or emotional toxicity and it works well for me. I notice a subtle gentle calming effect, a slight laxative effect (so dose carefully)and a cessation of periodic nighttime leg cramping.I ordered it for my 20-something children as a way to help them calm themselves from stressful overstimulated days at work. One notices a benefit, the other doesn't seem to.   Magnesium calms muscles and blood vessels. Less pain helps anyone to relax and feel a little better. Add fish oil, too. That often helps, as well as lots of probiotics.

  Yes, mostly likely the unflavored Natural Calm will change the taste of milk. Perhaps you can mix the power in juice to make the magnesium more palatable. The amount of Natural Calm you mix in will also determine how "sour" a taste will come through. If mixing the recommended amount into juice has too strong of a taste, half the dose and have your child drink it twice a day. I hope this helps!

  yes, it will change the taste. But you can get the flavored one and it will be less bitter. I think it is a fruit flavor. We use that one and it is better. When you put it on juice you know there is a difference but it isn't as noticeable. I would try that one first before you go with the plain flavor.

  Definitely would change the flavor. More importantly, magnesium has fizz. I find it to be a pleasant drink in water. Try 1/2 tsp in 8oz. water. It will taste somewhat like soda. He might actually enjoy it!

  Milk is not a good thing to put this in. Orange juice would be better or pomegranate juice. They both have strong flavors that go with the sour type taste.
