Product Label

  • 100% Organic
  • Delicious Flavor
  • No GMO's

  • USDA Organic
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is among the healthiest, most versatile dietary oils in the world. An excellent cooking oil with its natural coconut flavor and aroma, we think it is simply the best tasting most aromatic coconut oil on the planet.
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is a stable, healthy saturated fat that is naturally free from trans-fatty acids. It contains medium-chain fatty acids, such as lauric acid, which have shorter chain length than most animal derived long-chain saturated fatty acids. Consumption of coconut oil at recommended levels, along with a healthy diet and lifestyle, helps maintain already healthy levels of cholesterol.
  • Unlike refined coconut oils, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is not hydrogenated, bleached, refined or deodorized. It is produced using the same methods farmers have used for centuries. Meat from only the freshest, organically grown coconuts is shredded and cold-pressed to create coconut milk, and then fermented to extract the oil.

Directions

May safely consume 1-4 tbsp per day. Use in cooking, baking, frying, or in smoothies. Can be used in place of other oils including butter.

Bought a jar of this last month based on user reviews, and love it ! I went ahead and bought another jar this month. I initially started reading about coconut oil for my dogs, but found out that it could be useful for me too. My dogs absolutely love the flavor and so do I. When it is hot the coconut oil is clear and in an oil state, but if it gets cold it will turn white and will have more of a paste or butter texture and look to it. When you open the jar you can instantly smell a really lovely coconut aroma. In its clear, oil like state it has very little taste and it feels more like water in my mouth rather than an oil. It's very 'lite' tasting. In it's more solidified white state, it has a pasty texture, but it still tastes good. I think I might prefer (and my dogs too) the pasty texture, because it feels more like I'm eating coconut flesh. I've cooked chicken with it, I've eaten it straight from the jar, I've given it to my dogs to eat, I've rubbed some on my dogs neck for a skin irritation, & I've rubbed a little on my own skin for fun. I really like it, and if you are thinking about getting a coconut oil then I highly recommend buying this one. It's a good quality oil for an amazing price ! This is 100% organic, Extra Virgin, and NOT refined.

Bought this product for a family member suffering from dementia. Haven't used it long enough to know if it is working however, putting this product in a smoothie causes the oil to solidify thus giving it a waxy feel, not an attractive quality. Using it in a room temp smoothie or in oatmeal works better.

Such a wonderful taste and a fat that is healthy for you! I love it and use it in many different ways: sometimes I spread it on a piece of pumpernickel, or I add it to cooked veggies. Then I fry an egg with it or add a spoonful to soup I'm cooking. There is no limit as to how you can use this healthy fat, it actually helps to burn off other fats in your body! I couldn't be without it any more!

I initially bought your coconut oil because I had an allergic reaction, and a friend of mine suggested I try it to control the rash. To my surprise, it worked almost immediately! It is a great moisturizer and keeps my skin baby soft. Haven't tried it for cooking yet, but I'm told it's terrific, especially for seafood. Hmmmm, coconut shrimp...my favorite!!

This coconut oil is so deliciously nutritious it can be used internally and externally. I like to spread it on Kombucha squash, toast, sweet potatoes, and pancakes. It is also useful for hot oil treatment for the hair and to apply to moisturize skin.

I am actually eating a few teaspoons a day to help me thru a thyroid condition. New meds had me so tired I could not get out of bed. Oil allowed energy to flow quickly. Able to do my walking routine with energy and a smile. Would recommend this product for anyone needing energy while taking a thyroid supplement.

I started using Organic Coconunt Oil in Sep 2013 and I love the way it feels as a moisturizer on my entire body. I use it from my face to my feet. I also use it as a moisturizer on my scape and hair. I then use a seperate jar so that I may take a table spoon each morning. It yields great health benefits to my hair, nails, and skin. And I use it to prepare all my meals with. And my college daughter has also noticed the benefits to her hair and skin.

I use this product to help my dogs with dry skin. I add a measured amount to one meal for each dog daily, and I also rub a little bit of the oil onto their skin as well. So far the results are good. I am planning to incorporate coconut oil into some of my recipes and possibly into my skin care routine as well.

It is lso great for cooking or a tbsp. in hot cereal.

I love this coconut oil - like that it comes in a glass jar and is organic. Use it mostly to stir fry vegetables, and mix it in with my hot cereal

Garden of Life's Coconut oil is excellent. The smell and taste is rich. I purchased the oil to use for my hair as well as for nutrients. I pour a tsp in my hand for my hair and take another tsp down the hatch. My only suggestion would be if the company would make the bottle drip proof like my olive oil bottles.

After hearing about all the uses Coconut oil is good for, I couldn't wait to order it. I was not disappointed. It smells great, tastes great, and I use it as a facial moisturizer and makeup remover. It easily wipes away even my waterproof mascara and soaks into my skin well if I put it on right after showering. I am so glad I found this product. I love the smell of coconut but I only put it on at night since I don't want to smell like a tropical drink all day. ;)

Use this product to cook with, coconut oil is by far the healthiest and safest oil to cook with (high heat), it does not break down. This coconut oil has a mild coconut taste, not to strong. Use this product to oil pull, look it up online, great for your mouth's health! Use this on my skin, feet, hair, etc. Look into the benefits of coconut oil. Its awesome!

I've used several different extra virgin coconut oils, but this one is definitely my favorite. Nice flavor, and I can always count on the excellent quality of Garden of Life products.
                                            1) great for cooking
                                            2) works well for a carrier oil for essential oils
                                            3) my daughter and I add peppermint oil to it and brush our teeth with it.

Q: How do you use Extra Virgin Coconut Oil on your face?
A: Coconut oil can be used on your face as a moisturizer. Wash and dry your face, then lightly apply coconut oil on your face.
Q: How do you use it on your hair?
A: Coconut oil can be applied to hair as a pre-conditioner to heal damaged hair. Work the coconut oil into damaged ends and leave an hour to overnight. Wash hair.

Be sure to use organic unrefined coconut oil. It is great for cooking, baking, and as an all over body moisturizer. It can heal dry heels and elbows. Coconut is antifungal, antibacterial, and antiViral. it can be eaten or mixed into coffee, hot chocolate or smoothies. For more info on coconut oil uses, read Coconut Oil Miracle by Bruce Fife.

kelly f: I put oil directly on my face after gently washing with luke warm water. You can put the oil in lotions or body washes and shampoo, about an tsp per 4oz of liquid. Warm 1oz in a cup and pour on wet hair, massage and rinse. Everyone's skin and hair is different, so trial and era is expected.A little goes a long way ,so just a dab on your face and gently massage under eyes before bedtime. Kelly Aug 9, 2013

Grace S. G: I can only go by the label from the manufacturer. It says "cold pressed" or not heated before having oil pressed out; extra virgin, meaning the oil is from the first pressing of the product, not a subsequent repressing to get extra oil out; it says 'unrefined'. What does this mean? I don't know exactly. Also, the label says "no GMO', or nothing genetically modified about it; etc.
I only know that it makes wonderful pastries, smells good, and my dermatologist recommends it for my skin, also. So, I like it.

TRACY D: No, in fact you want to keep it in a "warm" environment. Coconut oil is a solid under 76 degrees (F) and a liquid above 76 degrees (F). Using it as a liquid is much easier for measuring. Aug 30, 2013

Grace S. G: I does not have to be kept in the fridge, in fact, it is easier to use if you don't. It will harden in the fridge, and even in the cabinet when the temperature drops.

All oils have a shelf life, and I would let coconut oil spend its entire life in the cabinet! Love this product! It helps make baked goods and pastries have a smooth soft crumb and look more like those professionally made.

Priscilla W: Having read the label thoroughly, there is no indication in their statement that egg, tree nuts or peanuts are involved in their processing. "Unlike refined coconut oils, EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL is not hydrogenated, bleached, refined or deodorized. It is produced using the same methods farmers have used for centuries. Meat from only the freshest, organically grown coconuts is shredded and cold pressed to create coconut milk and then fermented to extract the oil." I am also sensitive to nuts and this product doesn't seem to bother me any. Hope this helps.

Karen L: Coconut oil has the highest smoke point of any oil you can cook with. Feel free to fry with it. It won't oxidize and turn into trans fat like vegetable oils or olive oil will. It's anything UNsaturated that shouldn't be heated, or consumed in the first place. Sep 20, 2013
Elaine M: A virgin product is non hydrogenated. It is excellent to use on both the body and in cooking. For the skin, it is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. For cooking, it is safe to use with medium temperatures as opposed to olive oil which should only be used with low heat. Oct 1, 2013

Joyce E: It comes in a solid form, but because it is technically an oil, it is measured in fluid ounces. The measurement is the same either way. I always melt it before I use it to cook with. It liquifies even if you rub it between your fingers. Mar 5, 2013

Kathryn K: The oil is solid at room temperature. It becomes liquid with a rise in temperature (during summer months). Mar 6, 2013

Kathleen M: Mary Newport, M.D. does case studies. In her article COCONUT OIL DIETARY GUIDLINES AND SUGGESTIONS-updated Sept 2009, she states "hydrogenated coconut oil can increase cholesterol. Therefore look for non-hydrogenated coconut oil with no transfat." The web site for more info is www.coconutketones,com

Coconut oil is wonderful for dogs also. THE WHOLE DOG JOURNAL had an article in their Oct 2005 issue.

                                            Hope this helps you Patty.

Andrew E: I have been using this as my primary cooking oil, along with olive oil for the past five years. I was overwieght (60+) and had high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I cut fried foods and used these two oils to cook exclusively and have excellent blood pressure and cholesterol levels now. It doesn't make your food taste like a coconut which I was worried about because I hate coconut. It's excellent for stir fry dishes and you need very little prepare a meal. It coats the pan you're using well. I hope this helps! Feb 15, 2013

Donna B: It is my understanding that coconut oil may initially raise the level slightly but then cholesterol returns to normal levels and can even become lower. At least that has been my experience. My suggestion is to view Dr. Mercola on You Tube as he has much to say about the benefits of this oil; or go to his website. Bruce Fife also endorses its many health benefits as well; it is antiviral, antibacterial and also seems to have brain protective properties. Hope this helps! Feb 15, 2013
