Best Answer:  I read an anecdote relayed by a Harvard-trained physician who treated a four-year-old girl who suffered from repeated bladder infections (caused by e-coli). He had the Mom give her d-mannose every 3 to 4 hours while she was awake and her last infection went away in 2 days. The doctor doesn't say how much was given each time in her case, but he does say d-mannose is safe and natural. She was on it for 10 years!
He recommends elsewhere in the interview 3 to 5 grams at a time. Most of the dose is "kicked out" through the kidneys and into the ureters, then into the bladder, where the e-coli detaches from the bladder wall and latches onto the d-mannose, which is then rinsed out the next time a person empties their bladder...hope this helps.

Best Answer:  I take D-Mannose along with 1000 units of Vitamin C every day. My Urologist who is with the University of Miami put me on this because I was to getting UTI every couple of months. The last one I had sent me to Urgent Care Center.
I have not had a UTI since I started this regiment. You may have to take 2 D-Mannose and 2 Vitamin C a day. For me 1 of each works. I faithfully take this everyday since I don't want to have another UTI ever again.

Best Answer:  For PREVENTION of the strain of e coli that causes urinary tract infections - yes. My wife's uti's stopped when she took two D-Mannose w/CranActin a day (one with breakfast and one with supper).

But I would seek medical care if the uti occurs. I don't think D-Mannose will kill the infection. Too dangerous to try that.

Best Answer:  Vitamin C is good for your bladder infection, however if you need assistance like I did, I went with the one with 1,000mg of D-Mannose and 400 mg of Cranberry. Vitamin C is just an additional help, but not the primary one. This is my take on it.

Best Answer:  I was directed to this product by a holistic doctor friend of mine. Had been having several minor uti's so I thought I'd give it shot. At the first sign, I began taking them along with monolaurin, I've not been back to the doctor. I just reordered to make sure I have it in stock. I've also increased my water intake and drink at least 1 cup of green tea a day. It's been almost a year being UTI free.
