Not like the old pills

Not the same as the previous Mag Glyc offered by Vitamin Shoppe. These pills are barely coated so they break easily. I swallowed a broken one and regretted that decision. I could feel and taste burning chemicals in my esophagus all night. The pills before this formula change were much higher quality. These are chalky and crumble, flake off, etc.

It's actually a great product

To the person who wrote a review stating magnesium stearate is an oil to lubricare machines got their information all twisted, and distorted what it's actually for. If all brands were just as transparent as the VS branded products, you'd see that magnesium stearate is in almost all supplements and generally safe to consume. I have the best sleep with these tablets. Powder forms of magnesium glycinate smell like fish. I'll admit the tablet are on the larger side, but you just gotta accept that some pills are big but not impossible to swallow.

Fillers & Oil

Terrible! Mostly filler. Microcrystalline cellulose is a FILLER and is the MAIN ingredient here. Magnesium stearate is literally used to oil machines. This product is a rip off, stay away.

Large & Difficult to Swallow

These are very large & dry pills. Difficult for me to swallow one, let alone three! I did manage somehow to swallow 3 per day for nearly a week but almost choked on one tonight so I'm done with them. I swallow other large supplements but they're capsules so slide down my throat much easier than these. They're just under 1" long, about 3/8" wide, & nearly 3/8" thick and very dry.

Worse than the old magnesium glycinate

Although they say they're fully chelated, which is supposed to have better absorption, these don't seem as good as the previous mag glycinate vitamin shoppe offered. I tried this for a couple days and my nerve pain was noticeably worse. The only time my pain has been that bad was when I'd forgotten to take my magnesium glycinate in the past. Fortunately, I still have some of the old, not fully chelated, tablets left and switched back. There was a marked difference. I'll perhaps try switching once more but I don't have much faith in a different outcome. Because this is the only magnesium glycinate tablet that's now offered by vitamin shoppe, I'll likely have to go somewhere else. And while I'm no expert or doctor, it also doesn't make that much sense as to why a product that's supposed to have more bioavailability would require more tablets to be taken. They're the same size as the previous ones but now they cost more and you have to take 3 as opposed to 2 each day. It just seems like a gimmick that didn't even remotely work.
