Eh? I tried it.
I'm not sure of the results. It is gross though, so I had to always mix it in a medicine cup with juice and then chase it with more juice. I wanted to feel it was amazing and everything I was missing but it just kinda fell flat with me.

Change back to original brand
Need to go back to the older brand, and I dont luke the new brand. The 1st brand you can actually smell the vitamins. Too me this new version doesn't seemed stronger and do not like that taste. Floridix please go back to the original brand

Damaged
I need this product very badly for my well-being it is very good for iron replenishing. I had stopped ordering it through the mail because many would arrive with the boxes damaged and some with leaked liquid. Well, after a long time I was forced to try mail order again, and disappointedly the box was ripped opened and the plastic cap cracked. I will have to make a long trip to the store.

is this product to be taken for a certain period of time, or is it to be taken daily indefinitely?

  My husband takes iron supplements for iron deficiency anemia. His physician checks him every 6 months to be sure his rbc & ferratin levels are being maintained--3 years now. According to the Dr., it may take up to 6 months to restore your iron levels, then based on your condition, you may or may not have to continue with supplemental iron. Hope this helps you.

  TAMMYI usually take it everyday.. I am low on Iron and do not eat meat.. This has been a great supplement for me instead of any Iron pills. There are times when I will lay off for a week because it is expensive, but I love it. Ask your Doctor

  Tammy - It depends on your needs. I have vegetarian friends that take it regularly to supplement their iron intake. I take it for a couple of weeks and then take off a couple of weeks etc. to keep my iron levels good.

  The taste is not good but this helped me with my low iron levels when pregnant and didn't have the other negative side effect of iron pills. You can mix it with OJ to make it more palatable.

is this product safe to use without doctors approval?

  I found it very gentle to use. It didn't give me digestion problems that other iron supplements have. It's always good to find out what your iron levels are before taking iron. When my iron levels were super low this supplement was not enough. I switched to feosol with bifera.

  You should always ask your doctor before starting anything new, but unless you have too much iron in your blood, this should only help you.

my iron is extremely low, and everyone is different, so how do you know how much to take? And would i need more than suggested since my iron is so low? can you take more than the prescribed amount?

  Your Dr. would best prescribe how much to take as iron is absorbed differently and some foods can effect absorption. My husband was taking about 75mg of iron daily for iron deficiency anemia. Iron is very constipating and can also be toxic taken in very high doses. Floridix is easy to take, has a non constipating formula (plant based), directions is 1-10 ml dose 2 x daily (20 mg) taken 30 min before meals.

  ami,You need to consult your doctor if your iron is extremely low. The real cause of extremely low iron needs to be found out. I would not use iron supplement on my own in your situation.

  It does not have the best taste but it did not bother my stomach. I have a little booklet about Floradix put out by Flora that my mom gave to me. (I don't know where she got it from). This should answer your question about absorption. The following is quoted from the booklet:Nutrients that interfere with absorption if taken simultaneously:vitamin E, calcium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, excess copper and heavy metals such as cadmium, cobalt or lead in the body (This is why it is better to take iron away from food and your multivitamin).Factors that increase iron absorption:vitamin C (ascorbic acid), B12 and folic acid, fructose (fruit juices), glucose, amino acids/protein, chelating agents such as gluconate or fumurate, presence of heme iron (animal) which increases non-heme iron absorptionFoods that decrease iron absorption:tea and coffee consumption with a meal reduces iron absorption up to 60-70%, oxalates (found in uncooked spinach, rhubarb), phytates (found in carbonated beverages), phosphates (found in soft drinks and processed foods), fiber, protein deficiency as protein is needed to carry iron from the small intestine to the blood, milk proteins

  Yes,I've been taking it for years and it is much more absorbable than a vitamin pill and in a much more natural liquid state of real fruits and vegetable juices. I have found it very easy on my stomach and a great way to get a natural form of iron. It taste great too.
