So glad I tried these. I usually use natures bounty cause they are coated and most lysine for some reason aren't. Well these vitamin shop lysine tablets in 1000 mg ARE coated and just as easy to swallow. They're great.

How large are these to swallow? Are they capsules or tablets? I have a large gag reflex and large, especially tablets, are difficult for me to swallow.

How large are the capsules? I'm going for 500 mg. rather than 1000 mg. which I bought elsewhere. I've never actually seen a horse pill, but I imagine they are about the same as the 1000 mg. white pills I've tried to swallow. :) lol Looking for ease in swallowing. Can take two to get the higher dose. Thank you to all who reply!

My vet wants my cat to go on this amino acid. He is not pill friendly. So was wondering if these capsules are liquid or powder?

  These pills are a powder. When I had a dog I would wrap a pill in cheese and throw so he would catch it in his mouth. I think it would go down before he knew what was in it. I hope this helps.

  The Lysine capsule is powder inside. You can probably open them and mix the powder into your cats food.

  I take 1000 mg daily and have for years to help bolster my immune system. Seems to work!! I also give it to my cats but only 250 mg in the a.m. and 250 in the p.m. One has gingivitis and it helps to control that. The other takes it as an immune system bolster as well as they both go outside and have exposure to other cats who may not be as healthy. Hope this helps!
