5 stars based on the health value matched with the cost savings. If you don't mind making shakes or filling empty capsules, this stuff is great. (It does taste quite a bit 'green.' haha) I used to buy the pressed pills, but this stuff is half the price. It is a Superfood containing an unusually high amount of protein, between 55% and 77% by dry weight. A complete protein, containing all essential amino acids. It is superior to typical plant protein, such as that from legumes. Contains vitamin B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (nicotinamide), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), B12 and vitamins C, D and E. MUCH BETTER THAN FISH OIL, studies have shown babies are more developed when given micro-algae over fish oils! Get the nutrients first hand, from their source. ***VS: these other customers are right, we deserve to know More about the source!!!

This stuff is really good for you! Be careful when you blend it though, it gets lumpy! Theres nothing more gross than bitting in a dry lump of spirulina! Also, don't be turned-off by the smell. It smells HORRIBLE! But trust me, you can hardly taste it when you mix it correctly. Add about a half teaspoon to your next smoothie!

Typically I blend my smoothie first, then add the spirulina and blend again. Clump free! Hope this helps!

I use this product everyday in my morning smoothie. I combine this with my protein and almond milk in my magic bullet. I have never had any issues with clumping. It has a 'green' taste, but I don't mind it. I have been feeling great since I have started this product. I will continue to use it.

I mix .25 tsp in my dogs bowls every day. It is good for them, as it is for humans. Seems to quell their craving to eat grass.

Comments about Vitamin Shoppe Spirulina Powder - 16 Ounces Powder:
Dr Christopher Hill researched spirulina in the 70's..I have seen 4 full pages of the vitamins (all of the b's) amino acids, micronutrients, etc...it is considered the most complete food, even by the FDA. It is a complete protein, with almost no fat, and is immediately digested...(beef takes a full day) I make a smoothie every morning with a juice, banana, fruit and a huge heaping amount of powdered Spirulina...I do not have sugar drops, afternoon lags, and my energy is sustained all day long... OK,the down side... it looks like a blue green mess...get over it! You will love how you feel! I use vitamin shoppe because it is the best value I have found.

I put spirolina in a smoothy. I use a blender so I have no clumping. I haven't noticed a bad taste or smell. Usually I have frozen bananas in my drink so they make it sweet. An easy way to get good nutrition!

I used to use a higher priced product, but kinesiologically this one tested great for me, so I enjoy the savings! I add a heaping Tb to a jar with water/lemon juice and stevia in it. I shake it quickly and well and have little problem with clumping. I do have to wipe my nose tho' cuz it does sometimes turn me rather green (0:
Comments about Vitamin Shoppe Spirulina Powder - 16 Ounces Powder:
Spirulina Powder by Vitamin Shoppe does not mix easy with water or juice. The taste is unbearable, and leaves a black residue that looks like dark charcoal. I had to use it in orange juice or apple sauce to get it to mix somewhat. I recommend you use the capsules instead.
