Adequate iron levels are essential to maintaining the energy needed for a healthy, active lifestyle. Each serving of Iron + Herbs from Floradix contains 10mg of gentle-to-digest, easily absorbed iron from ferrous gluconate, plus vitamin C, essential B complex vitamins, nutritional yeast, and herbal extracts to help you live your best life.

Directions

Adults (12 and over): 10 mL (mark on cap) twice daily. Children (4-11years old): 10 mL (mark on cap) once daily. Shake bottle before using. Take approx. 30 min before meals.

Why did you choose this?

Been using for years. Endorsed by hematologist for efficacy.

good product

It was recommended as a product that is good for boosting iron if your iron is low. I’ve used it in the past and I like it.

Our hematologist praised this item as an excellent iron supplement.

do you find it easily absorbable and easy on the stomach?

Best Answer:  It does not have the best taste but it did not bother my stomach. I have a little booklet about Floradix put out by Flora that my mom gave to me. (I don't know where she got it from). This should answer your question about absorption. The following is quoted from the booklet:

Nutrients that interfere with absorption if taken simultaneously:
vitamin E, calcium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, excess copper and heavy metals such as cadmium, cobalt or lead in the body (This is why it is better to take iron away from food and your multivitamin).

Factors that increase iron absorption:
vitamin C (ascorbic acid), B12 and folic acid, fructose (fruit juices), glucose, amino acids/protein, chelating agents such as gluconate or fumurate, presence of heme iron (animal) which increases non-heme iron absorption

Foods that decrease iron absorption:
tea and coffee consumption with a meal reduces iron absorption up to 60-70%, oxalates (found in uncooked spinach, rhubarb), phytates (found in carbonated beverages), phosphates (found in soft drinks and processed foods), fiber, protein deficiency as protein is needed to carry iron from the small intestine to the blood, milk proteins

Is this product Gluten Free?

Best Answer:  the label does not say gluten free. two of the ingredients are: "yeast (saccharomyces cerevisiae)" and "wheat (triticum aestivum L) germ extract.

I have black stained teeth since using this product! Has any one else experienced this?what can I do to remove stains , normal cleaning is not doing it

Best Answer:  It also affected my teeth. I had them cleaned by a dentist. If you still need to use the product, dilute it with water first.

Can pregnant women use this?

Best Answer:  I have used this while pregnant and nursing as recommended by my midwife. I personally would not use it in the first three months of pregnancy, having had miscarriages in the past and am wary of anything with herbs or out of the ordinary.

Does this product result in constipation?

Best Answer:  This product gets your iron level up really fast. And it will not cause constipation! It's worth the money. I have taken this on and off over many years and would totally recommend it.

what is the significant difference between Floradix and Floravital?

Both are iron tonics. Floradix is sourced from Iron-fed yeast it contains some wheat germ and is sweetened with honey. Floravital contains no yeast, gluten or honey. It is the ideal choice for those who may have yeast intolerances, candida or gluten allergies. The packaging on Floravital Iron tonics states it is yeast and gluten free.

Is this safe to give to a 1 year old?

Best Answer:  You need to talk to your pediatrician. Did your baby have a diagnosis of iron deficiency? If your doctor did not prescribe this for your baby DO NOT give it to them! improper dose of Iron can be toxic--especially to children.

Can you add it to heated oatmeal or other foods that are heated? I also add it to smoothies.

As far as I can see this product should be quite stable with heated food.

Is this safe to take along with a multivitamin?

Best Answer:  I've taken this with a multivitamin for years and have never had any side effects.

I have hyperthyroid and notice this has kelp in it. Should I not take this?

Best Answer:  This type of question sounds best for a doctor.
