This stevia powder is primo and very concentrated without bitterness- sugar is extinct for me. Anyway, I would say, for a cup of coffee I use one quick shake of powder from the SMALLER bottle- not the big 3.5 oz one. It's merely a light dusting of the stuff for a cup of strong coffee and I like mine SWEET. I think alot of people use too much and say it's bitter. It's not. Just try it in a cup and see how sweet you like it. I never use the miniscule spoon in there because it's too much for a cup. Go step by step, slowly and don't overdo it. It's difficult to advise on sweetness- everyone if different..but this stuff lasts forever..and I love it!

  Tammy, you really just have to add the stevia powder until your drink is like you like it. When I make an 8 oz. mug of herbal tea/green tea I put one of the scoops that is in the bottle. For a 2-qt. pitcher of drink I would just add a couple of the scoops (or more) until you get to the desired taste. Count the scoops, then you will know next time. This stevia powder is very concentrated and therfore very sweet. It's probably as sweet as a couple of teaspoons of sugar. I don't know the ratio though. You will just have to experiment. What I like about this stevia is it doesn't have an aftertaste to me. Good luck!

I have experimented in the past couple of weeks and I've found that if I want to make a 2 quart pitcher of Koolaid, for instance, it takes 8-9 of the tiny scoops (level scoops or less). I'm figuring I would need a similar amount for a pitcher of sweet tea, but I haven't tried tea yet (waiting for summer to arrive for that!). Even though 8-9 scoops seems like a lot in a way, I can still see this bottle lasting a really long time, with over 2000 scoops in the bottle! I think this has been one of the best buys I've made in a long time. I highly recommend this product!

  This particular Stevia Extract is the best (Kal Pure Stevia Extract). I found that the tiny scoop they give you with the bottle is probably 1/16th of a teaspoon and that is equal to a teaspoon of regular sugar. This little bottle of Stevia (I think it's 3.5 ozs.) lasts me up to six months sometimes longer. To answer your question about a 2 quart (1/2 gallon) pitcher of drink, I have to say it would be according to taste however, 24 teaspoons = 1/2 cup of sugar - I would start with 12 to 24 tiny scoops and test it from there. It is quite a refreshing sweetener, no after taste.

  Oh, and one more thing--if anyone has had difficulty mixing this powdered stevia into cold drinks, there's an easy way to get around that. Just sprinkle the stevia on the top surface of the drink and let it sit there for a minute or two without disturbing it. The powder will absorb water and dissolve on its own very easily this way. When you no longer see white specks on the surface of your drink, then you can mix it with a spoon with no clumping at all.

  I would use 1 to 2 level scoops per quart, but this depends on your taste f or sweetness. The good thing is, each scoop is a small amount and you can just add one at a time until it is to your liking.

The Stevia Cookbook, by Sahelian & Gates, suggest
1 teaspoon equals 1 cup,
1/4 tsp equals 1 Tbs of sugar,
but point out that sour foods may need more than sweeter foods.

  It's hard to estimate exactly, I drink tea in 16 oz mugs and I use the equivalent of a pinch or two (I fine tune it by taste). Multiply that by how many 16 oz go in 2 quarts.
The ratio of substitution of stevia powder for sugar would be a pinch to a teaspoon.
Sorry I can't be more helpful than that. You can use this as a guide and go by trial and error.

  I'm not sure because I usually use it in tea, but I would start with a teaspon and then taste and add another teaspoon and taste. Your taste may call for a sweeter or more tart taste than anyone else. Even if you had a conversion chart, I would recommend tasting for yourself. It's very sweet so a teaspoo full is a lot.

  One small scoop of stevia to one tsp of sugar. I like two scoops of stevia in my tea. I use big tea cups. One scoopp for two cups of liquid. Start small and taste it then add as necessary. Taste preferences vary greatly for each person and you must try some and seee how you like it. Paul A.

  I use a quarter of a teaspoon for a gallon of tea, so for a two quart pitcher I would use one-eigth of a teaspoon. I don't like things very sweet, though, so try that and see if it's sweet enough. I have found that a quarter of a teaspoon is about the same as a cup of sugar.

Since there is 4 cups in a quart and therefore 8 cups in 2 quarts, I would recommend 6 to 8 scoops of Stevia. Of course, using the scoop that is included in in Stevia container. I would try less...you can always add more. I hope you find this helpful.

  We use 7 scoops for a pitcher. I am not sure what the ratio is, but I would say that 1 scoop of stevia is probably equal to a tablespoon of sugar.

  Kal brand Stevia is one of the VERY few manufacturers who do not add anything to their Pure Stevia product. They have a Stevia product with fiber added, but the PURE STVEIA EXTRACT is labeled just that, PURE. I cannot prove anything beyond what is on the label however. But it is the only one that actually tastes like Stevia to us.
Use it sparingly to start with as I found it flavorful and good. Now I love it. A good healthy scoop is what I now use. God Bless you.

  My wife and I have been mostly using this stevia product for a few years now. We've tried many others, but none seem to sweeten as well as KAL. As far as whether KAL has added Maltodextrin, I can't definitively answer that, but the label says NO OTHER INGREDIENTS have been added. It still tastes the same and, as I said, it sweetens as it has in the past. We will be ordering KAL again when it' time.

  From my recent purchase of this product, the label states "Kal guarantees hat NO ingredients other than those listed on this lable have been added to this product." Only ingredient listed is Stevia Extract. I hope this helps. I love this product and can't tell you how many bottles we've used to date. We have noted no change in the product.

  I purchase this product regularly. I read over the label to check for listed ingredients.It says it is pure stevia extract, 42 mg stevia extract per serving, then specifies other ingredients: none. Then it gives a guarantee that no other ingredients other than those listed on the label have been added.

  The Stevia I purchased in Nov. 2012 does not have any other ingredients. I am still using the same bottle. I only use a little in my coffee each morning and still tastes OK.

  Yes. there is no maltodextrine in the Kal 3 oz. Stevia powder.

  The 3-ounce bottle says 'serving size 1 scoop, 2381 servings' but does not state the actual volume/measure/amount of the teeny, tiny scoop. i measured years ago, and found it to be equal to about 1/32 of a teaspoon. i found a conversion table that says 1/2 tsp stevia extract powder = 1/2 cup white sugar. All the math makes my head hurt. ;-) We use it primarily in small increments for sweetening beverages, homemade salad dressings, etc. and it lasts about 3 months for 2 people. We selected this brand several years ago, after trying many different brands and types. We like it because it is PURE Stevia EXTRACT, with no fillers and no bitter aftertaste, as so many of the others have. plus ordering online from Vitamin Shoppe saves money and time.

  This will last me a long time due to I don't use that much as someone else would. Stevia is a strong sweetener and you only need a speck to sweeten tea or coffee. The people who sell it should be able to tell you how much one bottle can serve. The back of my bottle sayes 2381 servings. But I purchased it due to it is ONLY stevia in the container. Nothing else! The other one I purchase else where had an ingredient that I researched and came to find out it was the stuff they put in items to keep moisture out of. For instance I had a leather coat with a pack of the stuff in the pocket when I purchased it. thats the stuff that was in my stevia. I will now look at labels before i purchase stevia from now on. This is pure stevia and that is the reason I purchased it. Serving will determine how much you need to sweeten your food that your using it in.

  I have used the 3 0z container for a few years with satisfaction. I often can get up to 3 months on that container. But -like all things in life. A little goes a long way.   The label reads 2,381 servings. That's if you use the tiny spoon that's included .I have never counted. I usually just do a tiny shake which probably is about the size of the spoon which is about the size of half a petite pea (for a cup of tea or coffee). A little more if you are baking or cooking with it. One bottle lasts me about 3 months.

  I have been using the Kal Pure Stevie Extract now 3 to 4 days per week for almost 4 months via the super tiny little scoop included in the jar and I still have about 60% left. I really quite like it. They are correct about there being no nasty aftertaste, etc. I consider it to have been a great deal on a high quality product.

  It doesn't take much stevia at all to make things sweet. I have never cooked with sugar, just with honey or agave nectar. When a recipe calls for sugar, I just add a little bit of stevia, then taste the batter or dough to see if it's sweet enough. This is what I have done with my tapioca pudding recipe. I love this brand of stevia as it doesn't have an unpleasant taste or aftertaste like some do.

  Stevia is 300 times sweeter than sugar, so you have to figure that out for yourself. I used to use a cup of sugar in a gallon of home brewed iced tea-I use a quarter teaspoon of stevia. It tastes bitter if you use too much, so go very sparingly and taste when you add it to recipes. And it doesn't carmelize like sugar, so you can't use it that way. Hope this helps!

  The Kal stevia has a very small spoon in it and I use 1 level spoonful to sweeten my cup of hot tea. My husband uses a heaping spoonful to sweeten his cup of coffee. We have a book, Cooking with Stevia, by Kirkland which has a chart that gives the equivalent of stevia to other forms of sweeteners. This book has recipes that use stevia and steviosides.

  Careful! If you are using this Stevia to replace sugar, know that the label on the container says "Other Ingredients: Maltodextrin."

  We used this product (KAL) for YEARS because it was the best tasting 100% pure stevia we could find on the market. Late in 2013 we noticed that the label had suddenly changed without any notification. We were VERY disappointed and stopped using this product because it now contains maltodextrin and is no longer pure stevia. A small label was also added to the bottles at that time reading "made in China" which was not on the bottle when it was pure stevia. Hope this answer helps you.

  I am not sure, however, I stopped using it since they began adding Maltodextrin. No warning to anyone just added it, used to say NONE under additional ingredients, but now that it lists Maltodextrin it obviously isnt "Pure".

It doesn't specify where the stevia is from.
But it is 100% stevia with no other ingredients.

  I have not tried using it in recipes, only to sweeten lemonade or tea, so I don't think I can answer that question. One of those small capfuls is very sweet. I can't use a whole one to sweeten my herbal tea. It's just too sweet. You might be able to contact the company and ask them. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

  I have only used Stevia as a sweetener for my coffee, so I haven't actually tried it in a baking recipe. However, the information I have is that the equivalent to sugar would be, 1 teaspoon of Stevia equals 1 cup of sugar.
