My wife and I are lactose intolerant

l love this one so much better than the capsules

It says gelatin, beef or pork?

Best Answer:  The gelatin is a combination of pork and bovine - Theresa K. (VS)

Does this stop bloating and gas from drinking any amount of Milk per day?

Best Answer:  If you are aware of your dairy intake & the adverse affect it has on you, why question "drinking any amount of milk per day"? You must work with your body. I take 4 caps in the AM & 4 caps in the PM daily and severely limit my dairy intake. It is so well worth it. When I do consume more dairy than my daily amount, I do double my caps intake. I have been taking these caps for many years.

can this be added to milk to make ones own lactose free milk?

Best Answer:  Not sure about adding this product to milk. These are softgels. I cut one open to reveal the fluid but felt not enough could be squeezed out to make a difference. My gastrointestinal doctor said these types of lactase enzymes work well. It's just a matter of finding out how many to take to do the job. I find that I need to take 6 of them to be effective but they are effective for me when eating any type of milk products, etc. Also, the full dosage should be taken with the first bite or drink of milk product so putting them in the milk might not distribute enough of the enzyme to be effective. Don't know what the process is for making the lactose free milk on the market. Not sure if they put anything in it to make it tolerant or if they take out the lactose. I do know that the Lactase Enzyme product from the Vitamin Shoppe works well enough for me. I hope this helps you. Take care.

Is there a daily limit or is it just 1-3 as needed?

Best Answer:  There is no limit. I usually take one whenever I eat something. They are very effective as I am severely lactose intolerant and when I take just 1 pill it works no matter how much dairy I have (I love cheese and latte's). There are no ill effects from taking more than 1 pill. Sometimes I forget that I took 1 and I take another one and I am fine.
