Loved it

This "had" become one of my favorite protein drinks, but that's fading quickly, and I've really become torn about the brand. And Why? Please read on.

Firstly, I think that the best tasting flavor of the bunch is the Kool-Aid version (and no, it doesn't really taste like Kool-Aid - rather, a nice fruity drink). In 2nd place is the Strawberry and Banana flavor, and last (and I definitely mean last) is the Country Time Lemonade flavor.

But I've now got to interject this one fact - and that is that after a few weeks (or earlier, depending on the batch one gets), the drinks become exceptionally "tart," and sometimes sour thrown into the mix. Yes, they are still drinkable, but nowhere as good to drink as when you first got them. Although, I've purchased cases where right off the bat where the drinks had a very tart taste to them - and it's not pleasant.

A few weeks ago I purchased 4 cases of these drinks from my local Vitamin Shoppe store (All Kool-Aid flavor). When I put the first case into the refrigerator, they tasted great, and then after 7-8 botttles, the remaining bottles started to develop that off-putting "tart" taste. The worst offender of the bunch is the Country Time Lemonade type of flavor, and I've stopped drinking that flavor. When that one gets tart, then just forget about it because it's like drinking raw grapefruit juice (now if you like grapefruit juice, then more power to you).

Even several of the Vitamin Shoppe employees had mentioned this tart factor and to beware of it, based on feedback from customers.

I can't fathom the reason for this tartness, as I keep them stored in cool dry place (prior to putting in the refrigerator). When the flavors are fresh (and the tartness hasn't yet taken hold), they taste great, and I always bring one to my gym workouts - especially the Kool-Aid flavor. But wow, you really regret having to drink a bottle when that tartness sets in, that's for sure.

Suggestion for Ryse Clear Protein - fix this issue! How can a great tasting protein drink have that tartness set in - regardless of how it is stored (cool, dry place, or the refrigerator). I just don't get it, and I'm at the point where I'm now looking for a different brand protein substitute, which I really hate to have to do.

Love this protein

These taste absolutely gross. I couldn't stomach the flavor at all and I am a part-time fan of the energy drinks. This tastes like a nasty chemical cocktail mixed with a hint of something that doesn't even resemble strawberry banana flavor. I don't understand how anyone can think this taste anything at all like the energy drinks.

This is by far the best tasting protein. There's no aftertaste it just tastes really refreshing. Highly highly recommend

My favorite product no added ingredients but giving 3 stars because disappointed my last purchase with vitamin store. all bottles were packed in different brand box "prime". And few bottles will open straight without cracking the bottom ring opener. it looks like they were already opened and product is compromised. so please check that before purchasing.

Best clear protein thus far. Price is a little high, but it's good.
