Great !!!!
Started taking the butterbur root extract for my severe migraines, and its working GREAT, i havent had not 1 since i started taking it almost 3wks ago, and i used to have at least 2 migraines a wk. Wish id known about this years ago..

Excellent for migraines!! Fibromyalgia warrior
I have been fighting migraines for months until I found natural supplements/vitamins & herbs. This being one of them. This has worked reduce my migraines a great deal. No medication worked for my head until I tried this along with (magnesium citrate complex, tumeric & ginger capsule, Feverfew and vitamin b6). It took a good 3-4 weeks to work but once it did I felt back to being me!

So how what extracting process do u use & does your product contain high levels of pyrrolizidine??? The roots of the perennial shrub generally contain high levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which can damage the liver, so herbalists recommend looking for butterbur products that specify no pyrrolizidines, or ones that use a CO2 extracting process, which limits the amount of pyrrolizidine alkaloids

  No. No stomach upset at all. I started with 50 mg and my migraines were significantly less pronounced ... when the first two bottles were gone, I increased to 75 mg and I haven't had one since. That's been about 5 months ago! I've suffered 36 hour migraines for 26 years! This is such a relief!!!

  I used this particular product for several years and it never upset my stomach. I recently switched to a product called Continence which contains butterbur and other things, and it doesn't upset my stomach either.

  No it has never upset my stomach; however I normally take it and all of my meds during a meal unless I'm specifically instructed to take on an empty stomach. Hope this helps.

Does Butterbur help with sinus issues?

  Butterbur has been very helpful for our seasonal allergies, including sinus symptoms. We take stinging nettle for seasonal allergies and add butterbur when we need more relief.

One of the reviews mentioned that you should only take it for 12 weeks at a time. What kind of schedule is everyone following for migraine prevention?

  I do not have a good answer for your question, but I would like to thank you. I did not know there was a limit. I take Butterbur for alleries. I have taken it everyday for years. Guess I need more info too.

That is great if you haven't had any negative experiences. I would have never questioned it myself but I saw it mentioned in someone else's review. I figured I better post the question before I buy it or at least try to get more info. I really want to try this though.

  Honestly, I never found this to help. But if you are taking for prevention,you would need to take it everyday. What I found that seems to work is a Bcomplex supplement. Sorry I could not be more helpful..GL:)

  Yes, you need to cycle off for 1 week, then continue taking it every day. Also it is better if you take magnesium 200 mg at night with it.

Is this product PA free?

  Not 100% sure but most likely yes. I used this product for a good four or five years without negative side effects and it did help my migraines. I showed my neurologist this one, and he works with the FAA, so as a dr. he told me it was probably fine, but that the butterbur by Petadolex, also at the Vitamin Shoppe, was a safer bet because that meets FAA standards and PA free, so I use that one now.
