Product is fine. Label needs some work.

Strange little slip-up here, but I think -- I hope -- it's just a typo on the label: On the 1 oz. 1000 IU dropper-bottle of Vitamin D3, it says "Servings Per Container: 236". There's nowhere near 236 servings per container (with one serving being, per the instructions on the bottle, 5 drops). It's a 1 oz bottle, and the dropper holds about 1 ml, and delivers pretty exactly 5 drops every time... so predictably, you get about 30 "servings" out of it, i.e., lasting a month or so if you take it every day. A purchaser might be misled to think he's getting much more than he actually is!

How much d3 is in each drop?It says serving size is 5 drops, but that does not necessarily mean each drop is 1000 IUs.Now foods 5000 IU liquid D3 says serving size is 4 drops. But it goes on to say that each drop is 100 IU. So, the serving size is 400 IU's and does not match the front label.So, we can conclude that serving size does not have to match the front label. If that is true, we have no idea what the amount of vitamin d3 is per drop on the vitamin shoppe brand because they do not say how much is in each drop.So, I would like an answer direct from the manufacturer, how much D3 is in each drop?

Since it's obviously a highly concentrated substance, I would only give it to such a young child after consulting with my physician who of course would prescribe the correct dosage (if appropriate).

First, why would you need to give this to so young of a child? It seems unlikely that they would have developed a deficiency at such a young age. Assuming you are breast feeding, and your diet is good of course. And get a little sunshine on them (without sunscreen) for a few minutes a day and a few days a week and they should be fine with vitamin D.Yes, definitely consult with a doctor first. Having said that, most doctors don't know squat about nutrition, and so even if they do give you an answer, it's likely to be a very conservative amount, which for a small child is probably a good thing--again, assuming that they would really need supplementation at such a young age anyway.

The baby is 14 months old, it is doubtful she is breastfeeding. She can also absorb vitamin D with sunscreen on so I wouldn't say to skip it...

If it dosen't say organic on the label it is not. For Organic vitamins I go to: wwwyoungevityonlinecom/wilsonteam They have a spray that is very effective. Will get your Vit D-3 levels where they need to be.

It does not have a typical vitamin taste. Since it is a liquid and 5 drops = 5000 IU it is a very small amount you use. I put it into a bit of juice and I can't taste it at all.

The D3 5000 unit liquid at puritan pride has an orange flavor, not unpleasant. But they are out of stock, so here I am... I was looking for some idea of 5000 units is how many drops... I see one person said 5000=5 drops.. I wonder if anyone knows for sure..? The website does not show the label..
