GREAT FOR MENOPAUSE!!
I did a lot of research on this one because after having a hysterectomy at 27 leaving one ovary I had a feeling what “the change” would be like and I wasn’t looking forward to it. Along with Boragr Oil and Black Cohosh, I gotta tell ya it’s the best thing since sliced bread for menopause! Ladies, seriously! I had hot flashes like you wouldn’t believe and one thing my mom used to get, going through her “moment”, nausea and vomiting. Yep, had no clue. I felt like I was pregnant again and morning sickness would hit whenever it felt like it. NUT! Well I started taking these three together everyday, just one each, and I haven’t had anything!!! I feel wonderful and I’m sweat free and no more hugging the toilet. ??

Great Value
Vitamin-K2 is one of those vitamins no one really knows about but is extremely important for absorption of Vitamin-D. Without it, Vitamin-D can turn to calcium deposits in your arteries. The Vitamin Shop's K-2 is great quality at a great price. Everywhere else I've found this vitamin, it's much more expensive. Delivery took only 2 days!

MK-7
I too was looking for the MK-7 versus the shorter duration MK-4. It would have been fine for me if it was just the K2 and not the D3 as well since I take that separately. This is the second time I have ordered this product and I am very pleased with it.

Why did you choose this?

Teeth appearance

Just learned about the benefits of k2.

To pair with my D3.

Good aid to absorb calcium

Why is it that this bottle indicates k2 but when you look at supplement facts, it indicate D3 as well? Folks might be taking too much Vitamin D without realizing it.
This product contains soy, which is good because Vitamin K2 should be made from natto. However, is this soy non-GMO? I am concerned to take vitamins that are made from one of the top 10 genetically modified foods. Please tell me that the soy from this vitamin is organic.

Best Answer:  I understand you are hesitant to consume GMO's. The part of the soy that is modified is the part that makes certain proteins in the plant. This vitamin is extracted from the natto and the questionable proteins are left behind. I've been taking this vitamin for years.

Soy has several issues unrelated to the GMO. I don't consume it regardless of whether it is GMO.

Good Luck,

This product has been recommended to me by several people but I see that there is a problem within the supplement industry as to the accuracy of the amount of supplement contained within the product being what is listed on the bottle. Does this product have a seal from USP or NSF International that verifies the amount of Vitamin D is what is claimed to be on the packaging?
Are there any side effects? and will it remineralize my teeth or help them in any way?

Best Answer:  If Taking a Vitamin D Supplement, Remember K2 and Magnesium, Too -

If you opt for a supplement, be sure to take vitamin D3—not synthetic D2—and take vitamin K2 and magnesium in conjunction with it. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so taking some form of healthy fat with it will also help optimize absorption. The biological role of vitamin K2 is to help move calcium into the proper areas in your body, and without sufficient amounts, calcium may build up in areas such as your arteries and soft tissues. This can cause calcification that can lead to hardening of your arteries—a side effect previously thought to be caused by vitamin D toxicity. We now know that inappropriate calcification is actually due more to lack of K2 than simply too much vitamin D.

Magnesium is also important, both for the proper function of calcium, and for the activity of vitamin D as it converts vitamin D into its active form. Magnesium also activates enzyme activity that helps your body use the vitamin D. In fact, all enzymes that metabolize vitamin D require magnesium to work. As with vitamin D and K2, magnesium deficiency is also common, and if you’re lacking in magnesium and take supplemental calcium, you may exacerbate the situation.

Vitamin A, zinc, and boron are other important cofactors that interact with vitamin D. When taking supplements, it can be easy to create lopsided ratios, so getting these nutrients from an organic whole food diet and sensible sun exposure is generally your best bet. Dietary sources of magnesium include sea vegetables, such as kelp, dulse, and nori. Vegetables can also be a good source. As for supplements, magnesium citrate and magnesium threonate are among the best.

Can you take this with other vitamins?

Best Answer:  To my knowledge, yes you can take K2 with other vitamins. It's often included in multivitamin formulas, but at a lower dose. This form, VITAMIN K2(AS MENAQUINONE 7)is probably the most bioactive. K2 controls blood clotting, but that affect doesn't increase with dose. Also important, K2 encourages the deposition of calcium into the bones, and not the arteries, where it may contribute to atherosclerosis. However, don't take k2 if you're taking prescription blood thinners like koumadin or warfarin without consulting your physician..

Do you know if this product is completely vegan?

Best Answer:  Don't know if it is or not, since that's not an issue for me. Sorry that I can't help with your question.

How much magnesium do you need to take daily along with this K2 and D3?

Best Answer:  I take 400 IU of D3 in Summer and double up on that in the Winter. My multivitamin contains 300mg calcium and 100mg magnesium - on the advice of my doctors I discontinued taking an additional calcium supplement. However I take the K2 as it is supposed to enhance the absorption of calcium into the bones instead of the arteries.

How much soy is in this product?

Best Answer:  The label does not say and until you asked this question, I hadn't realized it contained soy. Vitamin Shoppe, you need to address this question. And WHY is there soy in there?

Is the K2 cis or trans derived version?

Best Answer:  This supplement is composed of 70%:30% Trans:Cis Isomer.

Thanks!

I am taking Pradaxa. Is Vitamin K2 recommended?
