Great Product
Great product! I had read about medicineal mushrooms and tried other brands that were fewer variety added into "immune" products, with less results. This product is superior. While everyone in my house battled colds and other ailments, including the kids who usually convey everything to me, I remained healthy!

First of all, Host ...
First of all, Host Defense My Community, and other Host Defense products are excellent supplements that have proven very effective and helpful in many ways for my daughter and myself. This is the first problem I've ever had with Host Defense products, so I am unwilling to say it is a problem with their product. It was also the first time I've ordered on-line from Vitamin Shoppe, and, at least for now, I have to believe it was a problem with the handling of the product. Many of the capsules were cracked & broken in both of the two bottles I ordered. As I was totally out of the product, it helped that there is a Vitamin Shoppe about 3 miles from my house, so I could return the defective products and replace them there. I'm reserving judgment regarding Vitamin Shoppe's quality control, giving the benefit of the doubt and willing to try again, with another product order. I hope it is a better experience this time.

Best Answer:  No, my husband and I are boath mental helath professionals, have taken this product for a number of years on a daily basis and have never had a negative result. We believe we have benefitted in terms of our immune system. I assume your statement was based on a one time occurence and all other posssible causes have been ruled out.

How would the capsules and the liquid extract compare?
The extract box suggests 2 servings of 1 ml/day and the capsule box suggests 1 serving of 2 capsules/day. the price/day is about the same.
