About This Product

Natural Gastrointestinal Comfort - For centuries peppermint has been traditionally used for gastrointestinal upset, cramps, gas and nausea. Today, modern science focuses on the menthol-rich essential oil found in peppermint leaves that soothes occasional disruptions in the bowel.
Pepogest's unique enteric coating ensures the following key benefits not found in uncoated peppermint oil supplements:

Directions

Soothies and settles the stomach
Over the last year or so I've notice my stomach seems to be sensitive to everything I eat. Peppermint tea appeared to help, so I decided peppermint oil might help even more, and it has done me wonders. Great product, it really improve the quality of my life.

I take one in the morning and another before bed,

Didn't Work as Hoped
Unfortunately, it caused severe digestive upset the first day so that it was not used again. Vitamin Shoppe was very good about returning the product.

Pepogest helped me
I rarely write reviews but hope this can be helpful for others. My struggles with IBS started this year. I pretty much had constant discomfort. I was using Metamucil which was helping but not enough. My Dr. recommended that I try peppermint oil. I started with one at morning and night. It was helping but overpowering for me. I stopped but my symptoms started increasing again. I decided to just take one in the morning and that is working pretty well. I still have discomfort from time to time but feel much better.

Pepogest is awesome!
I bought a bottle of this for my boyfriend to try a couple months ago. He has a history of gastrointestinal problems/sensitivities that are currently being made worse by his ongoing antibiotic treatment for another condition. This stuff (in addition to adding probiotics) has really helped alot! Particularly with the bloaty, gurgly stomach he was getting. He says this seems to work better than any other over the counter stuff hes tried (incl. pepto). I'm just so happy to have found something that can take the edge off his symptoms and make him more comfortable. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that when I tried it myself, it gave me wicked heartburn. I would suggest drinking plenty of water with it and not laying down for a while afterward. The peppermint burps were pleasent though! :)

AMAZING PRODUCT! Highly recommend
This has been the ONLY thing that has gotten rid of the stomach pain and severe nausea for my mom. She is 72 and battling MDS/AML. No chemo since August, dependent on blood transfusions since. Iron is elevated which seems to be causing sever stomach problems. She could not eat anymore due to the pain and nausea- this has changed her life!!! All meds prescribed by her doctors (conventional) only made it worse plus the fear of all the crazy side effects. With Peopgest she's eating again and feeling great!!! Thank you Vitamin Shoppe store guy for recommending this and thank you Nature's Way for this amazing product!!!! God bless. Love and Light.

I've had diarrhea IBS for 11 years. I've tried everything under the sun including prescriptions. I can't afford pricey medications or supplements for IBS and I sure don't need anything cleansing, Pepogest does the job with out all the unfortunate side effects of other treatments.

Good product for IBS (diarrhea)
I don't like writing reviews but I like reading them and I love this product. I was diagnosed with IBS years ago and have struggled with products that actually help reduce/eliminate the symptoms. This product does it for me. I took it as recommended for about a week. The first couple of days was bit uncomfortable (as with just about any stomache/intenstinal product) but I noticed the improvement. 2 months later I'm still taking it and my symptoms have been greatly reduced, almost entirely gone. I hope vitaminshoppe keeps this product as a similar product at my local health food store is double the price.

Just started using this product and have had amazing luck so far. I read in one review that it should be taken with just a little water , so as to not dissolve the content. True?

Best Answer:  Yes. I find it works best at soothing intestinal distress when I take it between meals on an empty stomach or about 30 minutes before I eat. If I end up taking it with too much food or water, the capsule release is either greatly delayed or it dissolves in your stomach and you feel the peppermint burn and heartburn.

Best Answer:  I do believe it has assisted with comfort from Ucerative Colitis... I have received zero hearburn.... I have occasionaly experienced minty scents with passing though.
