Wish it was not discontinued. Love this medication.

I don't get some of the positive reviews and wonder if many are fake, depending on what they're used for. I tried these because I believe I am perimenopausal and my PMS symptoms have gotten much worse (uncomfortable breast tenderness, more moody and even angry, very uncomfortable feeling in urinary system area for over a week prior to starting my period, sometimes bad cramps, increased anxiety, etc), and my periods have become even odder than they always have been, not to mention a lot heavier. I started looking for something that would help the really bad PMS and the heavy periods and learned about Chasteberry Extract/Vitex. I found the rave reviews here and ordered these.

First off, if they're not in your local VS and you order to have them sent there, it takes FOREVER. Second, they trigger my migraines. I really realized this when I read online that some women were taking 2 or even 3 Chasteberry Extract pills a day, especially right before and during their periods, and I tried increasing my intake to 2 a day before and during my period. That made me go from having light migraines to migraines that rivaled some of the worst I've ever had. I dropped back down to 1 pill and went back to having light migraines. I also read online a suggestion to take them before bed to prevent migraines...so now I wake up in the mornings with light migraines and have to go to work. On nights when I don't take them, I feel great the next day. Which reminds me...

Third, my sex drive has almost completely gone. I have read conflicting info about sex drive and CE, but, for me, taking these has killed it 95%. The only time I have a sex drive is the week after my period ends, and that's maybe for about 2-3 days. This last period, I stopped taking CE during my period because of the migraines and didn't take them for a while after my period stopped, and it was the most normal my sex drive has felt in a long time. When I started back taking it, my sex drive went back to almost zero.

Fourth, it has been months--I would guess 5 or so, though I'm losing count--and it really has done nothing for my periods. They are still weird and heavy.

Finally--and this is why this item gets 2 stars--it does seem to help my PMS symptoms. Unlike other reviews, this did not necessarily happen after one month, either--more like the last time I had a period at the time of this review, so maybe 4 months of taking a pill a day. But I do have an easier time with breast tenderness, discomfort, mood/anger/anxiety, etc. But none of those problems are 100% gone.

I've been looking on Amazon, trying to find a different brand--particularly one that won't cause migraines--and will switch when I find something else. I don't want to stop taking CE and lose the PMS benefits, but there really aren't any other benefits for me and I can't deal with migraines almost every day. So, I'll give it one more shot, but not with this product from VS. I have a feeling I'm just not going to be able to take CE.

This product has been a life saver! I took this product because I have had period problems for years and can not take synthetic BC and this product cleared up my problems in less than a week! One of my issues is very low progesterone and extremely long periods. I wasn't expecting such quick results, but I'll take it!

Vitamin shoppe brand chasteberry helped with my PMDD symptoms. They were ruining my relationships at work because of severe moodiness 1 week prior to the start of my period. Now, my symptoms are less severe and I feel less cramping as well. I tried Gaia brand but it didn't work quite as well as the Vitamin Shoppe brand and it was more expensive. I will keep buying this product.

I cannot tell if it's working or if I am taking the capsule in a right way...I want my bleeding to stop pls help how to take this capsule and how many dosage do i need to take? Thanks!

I started taking this at the recommendation of my personal trainer after complaining of serious food cravings. I started taking one capsule per day and found that at first I had some spotting and cramping here and there. It's been about 4 months now and I've found that it's not only made my cravings disappear, but it's also made my period lighter, shorter, and cramps less intense. I see reviews on here that women take this product to get pregnant; I have the copper IUD and no plans for children in the near future so while I can't speak to the fertility claims, I can definitely vouch for a better period and being craving free. I will continue to use this product.

My gyno recommended this product to me a couple years ago due to my periods coming about every 3 weeks and lasting 5 heavy days and 2 light days. It was ruining my sex life!! She told me to take 1 or 2 daily. I did so, and my next period was lighter, no cramps and was only heavy 1 day and much much lighter the next 4-5 days. As I continued to take this pill, my mood is much better. I forgot to take this pill when I went on vacation, and wouldn't you know, my period came back again within 3 weeks. This is a wonder pill. Definitely recommend this to anyone with heavy periods or who's period comes more than 1 a month.

I started using this vitamin one month ago, I was expecting the results after more than one cycle, for me it worked in one cycle, I suffered from heavy periods with severe cramps, for many years, I do not have fibroids or endometriosis, just heavy periods, I read about the chaste berry, and I wish I would have found out about it sooner, I take just one pill a day, and the results were fast for me. All those years of suffering for nothing, I wish some one had told me about the chaste berry herb. The results are different with every individual. My anemia has even cleared up, I don't crave ice anymore. I also take Mega-Food blood builder with the Vitex.
