The box does not say where the magnesium comes from. I would check the gardenoflife web site.

  I had that problem too if I took it with other vitamins. So, now I take it by itself after a meal. I read where Calcium taken with other vitamins can cause problems with your vitamins. I have not been nauseaus since taking the calcium by it self!

  Algae based supplements contain a small amount of naturally occurring strontium. The strontium in Vitamin Code Raw Calcium is only 3.8 mg which is an insignificant amount and is probably not an addition, but a natural occurrence in this formula. If you take a separate strontium SUPPLEMENT, which would be a much higher dose, that should come later and not with the calcium.

  It's true calcium and strontium supplements should be taken separately, but many minerals occur naturally in raw foods, so there will be traces of strontium in calcium. They are required by law to list these traces, but the traces are too minimal to be of concern. If you have concerns, call the manufacturer - Garden of Life.

  I use this brand of calcium supplementation because I trust Jordan Rubin to come up with an effective product. Not sure who told you not to take calcium with strontium, but if it was a healthcare professional who's care you are under, then follow their advice.

My father has been using Vitamin Code's Bone Growth for almost 1 year and he has seen an improvement in density (0.1, which is a big deal).

I guess the improvement has been attributed to the bone growth complex and not just the raw calcium. The complex has strontium as well, which stops bone loss.

I am not sure if the improvement can be attributed to Raw Calcium alone. However, this is very good product as it has better absorption into the bones.

  I have been taking this product for about 2 years. My latest bone density scan showed a slight progression of the osteopenia in my spine, but increased mineral bone density in my hip -- about 2.5% in the last 2 years. This is a product that my internist recommended as being the best OTC supplement she has found. She particularly likes the fact that it includes magnesium, which is very important for bone health.

  Yes, Ramona, I have had the bone density test. However, I do the complete Grow Bone 2-part program. I have had two bone density tests since I started using this product about 4 years ago and both test showed improvement over the previous scan. I do not take any prescription anti bone loss products.
