I am a brunette but I used it to lighten my grey/salt pepper-
It IS a Light Brownish color when it goes on-
Very light brown for me-

MY problem with the color was as it fades during the week-and after a wash or two... the mullein blonde turns a reddish color in the roots (the light brown disappears) and I did not like that at all- Just did not look good on me-

I am now using a different color- a dark brown and although it is a little dark when I first apply it- after a few days and some washings it fades to a more manageable brown-

  The number designates how light or dark a color is. 1 and 2 are blacks. 3, 4, 5 are dark browns. 6 is medium brown. 7 is light brown. 8, 9, 10 are blondes. Use the "N" Series (Natural Series) of colors for best gray coverage. N colors can be mixed with the other series (C=Ash, D=Golden, M=Mahogany and R=Copper) to achieve desired results. For example, 7N (light brown) mixed with 7R (light auburn) will produce a light auburn brown that covers gray hair.

  Susan, the color goes on a bit darker than what is posted, but immediately starts to lighten with each washing. If you want that color immediately it may be obtainable by playing with the time it's left on, but I have not tried that. The product is very gentle and a great alternative to harsh chemicals. It usually last 6-8 weeks depending in how often one washes their hair. Best of luck! Lyn

  I would characterize it as dark blonde. Jennifer Aniston comes to mind when I think of what this color is. Her hair might be a shade lighter than my hair is when I first dye it with this shade, but after the first week it typically fades (gets lighter) a wee bit for me (then stops fading).   It goes on a medium golden blonde color... and because that is my natural hair color... it stays that color for me. It's beautiful if you want a warmer blonde color. If you have any red in your hair at all..it will bring that color out.

  I've used this color several times. It is a very light brown. My hair is dark brown in its natural state, but I'm mostly all gray now. I use this color as a moderation between my two shades of gray and brown, and it works well for me.

I wanted exactly what you want and had similar concerns about the name on the box.
The mullein blonde gave me a light brown color. It doesn't look at all blond.

Hi Susan S. I use 7N Mullein Blonde and it is actually a very pretty light brown; which is what I wanted too. If you are looking for a true light brown you will be very happy with this color. I hope this helps you.

  I've been using Naturcolor for 5 years. It's always darker than they say. I usually mix D and N so the color is really natural. For sure it's not a blond, even light brown. It's just brown.

  It is a light brown. Anyone that looks at me would say I have brown hair but the colors I use (with any other brand) are called dark blonde. I think you would be happy with this.

  I have used 7N and it is blonde. It is not a white (bleach) blonde. I wanted something a little darker so I mixed 6N and 7N for awhile. I now use 6N for a light brown or auburn.

  I have used 7N for over 5 years it is Brownish Blonde, but the Sun can make it Lighter.... tends to go Dark Blonde... depending on your natural hair color. Hope this helps.

  After using 7N mullein blonde, my hair is more blonde than very light brown, with some gold highlights. Hope this helps.

  I personally would say it is a lighter brown. I would not used it if it was more on the blonde side. But it IS light.

  It was the first time I used this shade,I wanted to get rid of some red I had from using R series.It came up very nice medium brown-toffee kind of shade.It covered my gray hair well.I wanted to achieve the natural color and it worked.I've read about nice effects of mixing different shades for interesting outcomes-will be experimenting a little just for fun.

  7N is the only shade I've ever used so I really don't know how it compares to other colors. There's a guide in the store where I first bought my Naturcolor which has different hair samples. The 7N turned out looking pretty close to the sample. I can only assume that the guide would be representative of the other shades as well.

  It is great for covering my mostly grey hair without causing dryness. It is medium to darkish brown which fades to a golden brown over 3 weeks. I have used only this brand and color for several years and my hair has never looked better. I leave it on extra minutes beyond the instruction times.

  Its like a dark blonde color or a very light brown - a very natural looking shade! Works well with Sagebrush brown if you wanted something darker. Can be mixed for a lighter brown or a darker blonde!

  I purchased 7n to mix with 6n sage brown. I have very dark brown hair & the mix for me is perfect. I now have medium to light brown & I love it. The best product I have ever used. Good luck

  It seems to be true to the color chart. I love this product. I have honey blonde hair & mix 8n with 7n so it is just right for my hair. Great product...I have been using for years!

  It's darker than 8N. The color is on a warmerr, golden side, it doesn't have any red, and I would name it either very very dark blond or very light brown.

  Less harsh on my hair.
