What is the starting dose and did you feel side effects?

Best Answer:  Hi Sandra. The dose I began with was 1000 mcg. I did not have any side effects although I am aware that high dosages (over 5mg) may cause stomach upset in some. I and my daughter take the methylated foliate because we have a genetic defect which cause us not to "methylate" our B-vitamins. The methylated form is easier for us and every one to utilize.
