The changed formula
Used this product daily for years. Now they added 32 mg of calcium, which binds the colon. If I wanted calcium I would take it. Lately, manufacturers are adding calcium to pills (iron please it inhibits iron adsorption, prescriptions as well)

Not buying the store brand again
If this product was guaranteed, I'd take it back. There are many times when the store brand is as good as the name brand, so I thought I'd try it. Waa not a good choice for me.

I just started to take the Kelp (300 tablets 225mcg Iodine & 56 mg of kelp) Can you please tell me where this kelp comes from. The reason I ask is becasue I am doing tons of reseach since I was diognosed with Hypothyriodism, low Thyroid. This articel suggests certain Oceans, Seas and/or countries the kelp is better.So I have 2 questions?1) Where does the Vitamin Shoppes Kelp come from (what Ocran/Area?2) The article suggest you can take up to 600 mg per day 3 times a day = 12 of these 56 mg of Kelp 3 times a day.Thank you to anyone who can help with an answer

  I have been on it for years so I had to think back to when I first started: takes a month or so because you get better at a slow pace and keep gradually improving. Because the pace is gradual you might not notice right away - hence qbout a month. Hope this answer helps.

  I take it to keep my thyroid levels in the normal range.I haven't noticed any difference in how I feel as I always feel good (it was recommended by nutritionist as my thyroid levels were falling in the low normal range.

  Hi Hazel For many years I have been on high doses of thyroxine for overactive thyroid.I knew I could not take this dose forever, I would need a radio-active drink.This means Drs. can not know how much to give,as I know of some people that they administered this drink and they became under-active thyroid. While was on medication I took kelp,Iam now in remission and do not take thyroxine drugs.I feel good now.Good Luck.

  I don't know what the reason is that you want to take it. For me, I started taking it after getting a thyroid nodule. I also take tyrosine. The next time I saw my doctor (about a year later) it was gone. I also take the kelp for general health since it has both iodine and trace minerals.
