Best Answer:  NAC is a legal and safe dietary supplement and for that reason, The Vitamin Shoppe intends to continue making it available to our customers. NAC has been marketed and sold safely in the United States since at least the early 1990s without any objection from FDA. The FDA’s recent contention that NAC cannot be marketed in the US is simply wrong. The Vitamin Shoppe is working closely with the Natural Products Association to clarify and correct FDA’s position on NAC.
