Directions

Adults take 4 tablets daily, preferably with food. For best results, take 2 tablets twice daily with food. Not formulated for children. Do not exceed recommended dose.

Large Tablets - too hard to swallow

I had taken Alive Calcium before but is was in capsules not tablets. The tablets are too big for me to swallow, and also need to take 4 a day.

Great Product!!!!!

I use to run two days a week and my bones and joints would hurt really bad. I started taking this calcium and now I run five days a week pain free. I love this calcium so much that I have told my relatives and friends. THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!

Best Answer: Beth, My son is a vegan and I am a vegetarian. I had checked on this calcium source and it said "This wild-harvested, plant-sourced calcium is derived from a South American marine algae called Algas Calcareas. The entire kiwi-fruit size algae ball is hand harvested, sun dried, then milled into a powder. There is no extraction process or additives used – just pure whole food." So all we can do as consumers is trust that what is said is true. Natures Way has been around a long time and has a good reputation. So, I am trusting that YES this is vegan.

Best Answer: It might be best if you search the internet for information on the calcium needs of a 12 year old child. While I might believe that the ingredients and amounts in this formula are safe, I and most other customers are not knowledgeable enough to give an answer in this area. Perhaps you might want to talk with a pediatric specialist to get a professional opinion. I did see where some studies have been done on the subject with children in this age range. These are available on the internet.

Can you chew or crush this product?

Best Answer: I have not tried either of these methods, but I think the tablets can be crushed for sure. The tablets are not coated with anything. Also, there is nothing in the instructions saying not to crush or chew. I am buying these because they are gluten free and made from all natural ingredients--no sugar, yeast, wheat, dairy, artificial flavors/colors or preservatives. I hope this helps.

Best Answer: I searched on the web and could not find where is specifically said "GMO Free". Some of the websites alluded to it but when I clicked through, it was not addressed.

On the company's website, it says "We were the first major supplement company to be certified as an organic food processor." which makes me think that there products should be GMO free, but, again, it is not clearly stated. I do see that many of the ingredients are, indeed, organic, but not all seem to be.

Sorry, not more help than this. But I do like all their products.

What is the U.P.C. for this product in the 120 tablet bottle? What is the U.P.C. for this exact formula in the 60 tablet count bottle. I need this item in the 120 count product. This website displays the item I want to buy, only in the 60 count option. Thinking this may be a database mixup.

Best Answer: I know this answer is a little late, but it may help others. Algaecal is a brand name. What the requester wanted to know is whether the product contained the same algae... Algas calcareas, red algae found on the shores of South America i.e. Lithothamnion superpositum. Both products contain red algae, but possibly from different species of Lithothamnion, since the species on this product is unspecified.
