Directions

Adults take 4 capsules twice daily with warm water between meals.

The benefits are outstanding
Always do your research and make sure this vitamin won't counteract with something else your taking

Works for Throat Ulcer(s)
I got this Monday because I believe I developed a throat ulcer last Wednesday. I took this per the instructions on the bottle along with Licorice Root chewable tabs, Throat Coat, Aloe Vera Juice, Water, and a very bland diet, and I am happy to say that I am back to eating normal foods! I took off a star because it's not fun taking 4 pills 3 times a day, but I took them with apple sauce and after a bread slice and lots of water to make sure they went all the way down

For Part of a Diverticulitis Regimen
This product has been a life-saver for recovering from diverticulitis. The product is reliable and safe. You need to take three caps between meals and at least 2 hours away from any other medicines you take.

Please see my reviews for Peppermint Oil Sofgels and Aloe Vera Caps for more details. As part of a regimen for the healing process of diverticulitis. It's generally hard to find Slippery Elm Bark any form, so the Vitamin Shoppe provides a great service.

Remember, you must consult with a doctor and be followed up. This product alone will NOT treat diverticulitis. You may still need to be on an antibiotic. Diverticulitis needs medical care and can't be treated through "natural" means alone.

Best Answer:  I believe it is. I take the capsules apart and use the powder with a little bit of water over low heat to make a formula to give to my dogs. I found lose slippery elm powder in the bulk food section of an organic co-op grocery store, and it seems to be the same powder, except the one in the bulk bin was "slippery-er" when making the solution. Hope it helps your cat.

Is this product OK for cats that have CKF?

Best Answer:  Yes, it can be used in renal failure cats. Go to this web site, called "Tanya's Comprehensive Guide to Feline Chronic Kidney Failure Disease" which is a fabulous resource. Remember, in CKD, you do NOT want to let your kitty starve himself. Make sure kitty has clean water at all times, and adding water to the food helps. My cat is on Royal Canin's Renal LP Diet, and it has helped greatly! I have not had any luck getting my kitty to take the Slippery Elm, and I'm still seeking ways to get it in him. I tried mixing it with honey but that didn't work. I'm thinking about putting it into a pill pocket treat, but we have to watch sodium and protein in our CKD kitties... try Tanya's page, it's a lot to take in, but take a breath and you'll get through it! She mentions Prilosec, which may be helpful.

Best Answer:  They are pills to swallow. If you take with Ginger Root and Marshmallow Root it helps with Acid Reflux/Heartburn.

i got this for my cat with CFR. the ingredients on the bottle say slippery elm, Magnesium stearate and cellulose. the article said not to give if it contains anything other than slippery elm and Magnesium stearate. is the cellulose in the capsule? has anyone used the powder to make the syrup for feline CFR?

Best Answer:  Cellulose is not a protein, so it should be OK. The capsules are fairly large, so you may consider opening them up & putting them into a Pill Pocket- IF your vet says OK. I tried mixing the powder with honey (read that on a web site) but he wouldn't take it. Check out a web site called " Tanya's Comprehensive Guide to Feline Chronic Kidney Disease" and if you haven't already, get kitty on a Renal diet, like Royal Canin's Renal LP food- it made a tremendous difference in my kitty.
