I use to really enjoy Optimum Nutrition Whey as well as Vitamin Shoppe brand protein products. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, dishing out hundreds of dollars monthly on Optimum Nutrition Whey via Vitamin Shoppe as I body-build at the amateur level. This product itself is great. It tastes good, mixes well and offers a decent protein profile for those looking to build or maintain lean muscle. The reason for my low review and rating is due to the outrageously shameful prices that Vitamin Shoppe and Optimum Nutrition have recently imposed on its customers. $85 dollars for 5 pounds of protein? 150$ for 10 pounds? I know these big corporations have played the Pandemic and Inflation card hard and heavy during these immoral economic times, but raising prices to such heights and taking advantage of the working class is simply unethical and unacceptable.

At this point in time it isn't about the pandemic, the war, politics or inflation; it is simply corporate greed and the fact that consumers continue to pay these obscene prices and simultaneously continue to get taken advantage of by these corporations and companies. These corporations exist and continue to exist because of OUR money. I hope more people wake up to the reality of this exploitation. Pretty soon it'll be 100$ for 5 pounds of protein and it'll only go higher and higher.

In conclusion, Vitamin Shoppe, more specifically Optimum Nutrition has officially lost my business indefinitely as far as Whey protein products go. I refuse to support corporations and companies which continue to price gouge their customers when the cost of living is already so high and so many are struggling to make ends meet. I will continue to purchase fairly priced Vitamin Shoppe products until they too become outrageously unaffordable.

Dont buy the vanilla ice cream flavour, its terrible unless you blend in other ingredients into your shakes. Other than that very good for the price.

I have been using Gold Standard whey for the last two years. The 10 pound sack is convenient. Hopefully it is more ecologically friendly than the 5 pound tubs.

I purchased the Vanilla Ice Cream because it's one of two flavors available in the 10 pound bag, along with a form of chocolate. The one I normally buy and prefer to all other flavors is French Vanilla.

I ordered this because I tried the French Vanilla Creme which was amazing! I felt I couldn't go wrong, but this vanilla ice cream doesn't have as much flavor and the chemistry is different somehow. The French Vanilla creme I could easily make into a slushy consistency. The vanilla ice cream I have to double the amount of ice.

This product has the nutritional ingredients I look for at a price I can live with. It mixes well in very warm, not hot liquids with splendid results.

This is usually my “go-to” protein powder. Love the fact that ON sells 10 pound bags.
