Why do I get a warning when I order this that the product contains carcinogens known to the state of California? How can I find out what these are?

Best Answer:  The message you received was the Proposition 65 warning:At The Vitamin Shoppe our customers' health, safety and peace of mind are our top priority. As you are no doubt aware, a labeling law called Proposition 65 (also known as Prop 65) applies to every business in California, from bars to grocery stores to dental offices. Prop 65 requires a label or sign on or near any item that contains a chemical the state of California considers known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. This labeling requirement is in effect for any product that is for sale in the state of California, which contains even trace levels of one of more than 800 chemicals included on the Prop 65 list. Prop 65 applies to very low levels of these chemicals. In fact, products that are deemed safe by the FDA, USDA and other state and federal agencies still have to carry this warning in California. As this labeling applies to products sold only in the state of California, we have chosen not to place the notice on all the product labeling across the U.S. The Vitamin Shoppe provided Prop 65 warnings for certain products as a precaution and service to our customers in order to make you aware of the ingredients that are in the product which require compliance with Prop 65. These chemicals are not added but are naturally occurring constituents of the soil the products were grown in. Does this product have animal fat or animal gelatin?

Best Answer:  A pharmacist told me very recently, February 2022, that Vitamin with Rose Hips is the ONLY PURE form of vitamin C that all other is chemically produced. She also said almost ALL supplements are chemically produced. You really have to know the pure forms of supplements if you want to make sure you're not feeding your body straight chemicals every day in supplements.
