Milk protein allergy
I am allergic to milk protein (not lactose intolerant). It is almost impossible to avoid consuming milk. It is in so many foods as whey, lactase, lactose, milk solids etc. Taking a bromelain tablet before eating milk products helps break down the protein and I don't suffer the allergic reaction.

I would definitely come back and recommend to others.
This is a good price for Bromelain which I use all of the time. For me at least, Bromelain is a very good starting point(baseline) in terms of getting natural anti-inflammatories into your body.

Not a fan of the new packaging and Caplets
It have been taking the gel capsules for years and really like them. The were easier on my digestion. The capsules were easier to take. The new caplets have a smell that gives me nausea. Will keep taking them in case I can get use to them. From the reviews, it seems like others had issues with the capsules. Guess everyone reacts differently. I will continue to try them but may need to find an alternative.

Great stuff ... never without it
This is a standard, basic item in our "natural" medicine chest. Taken on an empty stomach, it replaces decongestants (with no nasty side effects) and pain relievers. Taken on a full stomach, it aids digestion. Great stuff ... never without it!!

Should I take the Bromelain with food or on an empty stomach for inflammation? Also, how long have you noticed it takes for it to kick in and provide anti-inflammatory benefits for you?

  I take Bromelain with food. I have been taking the Vitamin Shoppe's Bromelain for many, many, years, so I don't remember exactly the length of time that it took to kick in. However, in my opinion, the Vitamin Shoppe's Bromelain product is the best because they ran out once, and for about three weeks, I had to use another brand. I tried many different brands during this time period trying to find one like the Vitamin Shoppe brand. In my opinion, there's not another product that comes close to the benefits that you receive from taking the Vitamin Shoppe brand.

  Hello Josh B, my name is Mike A. Bromelain taken between meals helps reduce inflammation, taken with meals helps digestion of proteins.When I take Bromelain, it works pretty quickly, like within half hour or so. If you are taking any meds, you might not get it to work as well. I also take Quercetin with Bromelain, and that also helps.

  I take bromelain to help me sleep. Pineapple juice has natural bromelain and the juice works wonders for Sinus pain and pressure.

  Merle, I'm a senior citizen and use Bromelain to improve joint health. This is a stand alone product containing pineapple extract, so I take Glucosamine/Choindroitin & MSM tablet, also. Don't know if it actually has a positive effect on diabetes or what the difference is between this product & Thorpe research product.
