Works for me!
Took about 4 months to be fully absorbed into the system since I am on a limited diet, this replaces what I don't get from fish and grain (AIP diet and live near mercury waters).

I take for TED
I started using this after my doc noticed mild TED in both eyes after diagnosis of Graves Disease. It worked very VERY well and my eyes pretty much went back to normal and no more dry eyes from slight lid retraction. I was placing an order with another company that is known for having vitamins that doctors prescribe. There Selenium was "as selenomethionine" and I think that is why my eyes started to get bulbous again. So I just switched back to this vitamin shoppe brand which is l-selenomethionine. It sounds like I know what I am talking about but I am certainly no pharmacist. I am just mentioning the makeup of each one and noting which worked for me. This Vitamin Shoppe formula made all the difference in the world with my painful and annoying TED. I wish I never would have switched to something else. But after 2 days back on my eyes are already feeling more comfortable.

Selenium is of benefit and low in price
i see no harm in taking Selenium - it has nice health benefits for a person and is cheap. Its a mineral thats OK in low doses.

If i am taking L-tyrosine can I still add Selenium to my supplement routine? or does both supplements do the same functions?

Best Answer:  Yes definitely take both. Pretty sure Selenium has to mix with Tyrosine to enable T3 and T4 in your thyroid

Moreover, tyrosine does a million other awesome things for you that selenium does not. All the neurotransmitters that give you energy come from tyrosine

Best Answer:  They are disc shaped. 3/8 inch in diameter x 1/8 inch thick. Easy for me to take, but then I have found much larger pills easy to take, too.
